  1. Found this today, the perils of changing owners ,and selling and leasing back stadium from the council. Not saying this will happen BUT, read all the articles about it. http://www.herefordtimes.com/news/11657806.Herefordshire_Council_says_United_s_ban_from_football_does_not_trigger_termination_of_ground_leases/?ref=mr Was this asked at the meeting about the possibility of the council owning the new stadium. It doesn't make good reading
  2. Only one name for the stadium The Brabco Special Purposes Vehicle Arena After all it wouldn't be the daftest we've heard in recent years
  3. I've watched this from afar and anyone who has watched most teams in Scottish football know that subterfuge and alleged corruption are wide spread. Why is Dumbarton FC any different. The PR at the Rock is disgusting ,and I would take the likes of Iain McFarlane back in a minute. I was off sick on and off for over 2 years during his tenure, and my daily exercise was a walk down to the rock. His door was always open and the kettle was on every morning We had some ding dong arguments but the next day it was forgotten, and the coffee was on. OK he had his faults but you could ask him questions and he would answer. Since Brabco came, it has become very obvious that the board now see fans as an essential nuisance. It was me who put sparse info on about the company ,I went as far as I could and ended up at a PO box number in Panama. We're it not for the fact Alan Findlay and Simon Barrow are on their case, you would not even be getting a meeting tomorrow I have no problem with any investor making a killing as long as the club is not deserted without a place to play. Remember in the recent past the travels of Clyde, Hamilton and Clydebank I don't want to see one of the oldest football clubs in UK go to the wall As an aside if anyone is talking to Mr Hosie, not Colin, ask him what team he supports and did from his days in 1st Dumbarton BB
  4. Try as hard as possible ,through every option to stay where we are Wilf ,the fans have been played like a fiddle here. I feel for Gilbert ,I know he is a Sons fan through and through. He has been left holding the baby when the still unknown men of Brabco hide in the background. They creep around with an less than honest council making plans to close every door. I need to see a business plan and planning application BEFORE it goes to the council ,so the Trust can work with the club to get the best possible deal. My biggest fear is we end up like Clyde, Hamilton and Clydebank.nomads wondering aimlessly for years. Too many unknowns Wilf A lot of questions need to be answered, not least how the funding will work ,and who at the end up will own the club. Also will it be a case of Brabco give DFC Money and the council build the stadium and rent it back. Who's paying for the initial price of the land As I said too many questions ,not enough answers
  5. I can see a blockbuster movie coming up Hugh Grant stars in "52 weddings and a funeral of DFC" Co-starring ---Larry,,, Curly,,, and Mo !!!!!
  6. A council with £20m black hol will have more pressing concerns
  7. Re your reference to ground share, it's not an option as far as I'm concerned, Remember Cliftonhill, and the years of nomadic football at Hamilton Accies ,Clyde, and Clydebank It's easy for developers to renage on promises as these three clubs show. https://footballmanagement.wordpress.com/ Check John's blog ,plenty history similar to ours makes very interesting readin
  8. Funding for new Stadium This seems to be the biggest question, I read that WDC have a £20 m black hole ,,,so that rules them out Denny homes ltd do not have a credit history that I can see, so this would mean someone putting money up, I have heard the online bookmakers Bet Butler have their own financial black hole. Anyone out there got a wee windfall from the lottery ????
  9. All you need to know Wilf https://www.opencompany.co.uk/company/06457821/dennys-homes-limited
  10. I,will try to get down during the day if I'm well enough, I've asked someone by proxy to ask these questions
  11. I've been reading with interest about the proposed move to a flood plain site, with poor transport link, and 4000 capacity. A few points about this 1/ why do we need a bigger ground when the championship will be almost back to normal, crowds of 742 ,and maybe on a good day, 500 away fans 2/. Why is it being built in stages, answer they build one stand and say ,Ach you don't need any more ,that'll do and Brabco ride off I to the sunset 3/ who is going to fund it as it seems to me that Brabco are selling the site to themselves. I SMELL SHITE Or have I read this wrong???
  12. I've got a hobby Rab , This is for just when I get fed up lol
  13. I had thought that this is a possible reason, again though, could this not have been put out as part of the statement, I think it may have been accepted. There's more than one way to the castle. Does that mean dog walkers and ramblers will be banned from the shore. I can't make it before 2pm ,so does this mean I won't be able to get my car down to the Stadium. I couldn't walk that distance without putting my health at risk. Ach is it worth the bother??? It'll probably be moved for TV anyway. I don't fancy getting kettled in Castle Rd
