Ukraine thread

Blokhin will use the whole deadline to name the official 23 squad which must be submitted by Tuesday. The provisional is as follows:
GK: Pyatov, Goryainov, Koval, Bandura
Def: Rakytskyi, Kucher, Shevcuk, Mykhalyk, Khacheridi, Mandzyuk, Bytko, Selin.
Mid: Aliev, Garmash, Husyev, Yarmolenko, Konoplyanka, Rotan, Nazarenko, Stepanenko, Tymoschuk.
Att: Milevskyi, Shevchenko, Devic, Seleznyov, Voronin.
Back up: Shust, Fedetskyi, Volovyk, Edmar, Kalynychenko, Shyder, Bezus and Kovpak
Hard to pick three to miss out. I would take Bandura and Goryainov out and have three GK's of Pyatov, Shust and Koval. Possibly Shevchuk at the back, 33 now and youngsters Butko and Selin have a few caps each and are the future. Midfield is the strongest it's been for ages. Konoplyanka is class so I think it's either Garmash or Stepanenko to be left out. I'd prefer Garmash as he's prone to being sent off.
That would leave the strikers which will be left untouched. Very harsh on Shyder who's have a good season in front of goal with Tavriya but regulars Milevskiy, Devic and Seleznyov won't be dropped. Shevchenko is all but confirmed and Voronin, although he's garbage, will be floating around.
Tough group and the final match against England in Donetsk may prove vital. It's essential that Ukraine beat Sweden in Kyiv. I think France will wint he group and the Ukraine-England game will decide the runners up spot.
With all home nations, they usually do well. I'd laugh if Ukraine prevent England from going through but it'll be extremely tough.

Goal-line technology takes first steps
24 May 2012 - 19:12
Goal-line technology will be trialled in England's friendly against Belgium next weekend, although the technology is for research only and won't be used during the match.
I wonder if after the game, we'll see any of it. -
Thinking forward a bit here
26 April 2012 - 09:26
If it does (by the grace of God) happen and they end up down here with a bunch of u19's for a team would you think they'd stroll the league?
Even the decent young players they have like Ness, Fleck(!), Hutton and I suppose guys like Perry, McCabe and Naismith would surely want to be somewhere else?
Also in a financial situation, I guess it falls into Clyde's hands as two 2,000-3,000 (let's be honest, they'd still have a few thousand followers) odd attendances at Broadwood will certainly speed up our process of getting rid of our debts. If the last one happens to be a title decider then you'd get closer to a full house probably so there's certainly money to be made from this mob. -
