  1. That is part of my point - they interviewed and passed over a candidate a year ago. They have then made a song and dance about their new recruitment strategy - consultants, market leading experts - taken a significant period of time and hired someone already on the database. Free money for these so called recruitment experts.
  2. The window between a sacking/coach leaving and a new man being announced is generally far shorter than the circus at Aberdeen - I think that is very much fair to say. Usually before pulling the trigger boards have been doing a bit of planning and speaking to people… It’s perhaps more stark in Aberdeens case as Warnock was never a long term solution - so they should have appointed him and immediately began that search - however it seems like they appointed him, made a brew and watched as he floundered - planned to get rid of him still without looking and then he left… Its all a bit embarrassing tbf and I don’t think any realistic Aberdeen fans would disagree. I’m a Dee - I recognise embarrassing.
  3. I will be watching with interest. For me this whole consultancy board etc has been an absolute load of corporate nonsense jazzing up a standard process with buzzwords. This is clearly a Cormack thing - Insaw the AberDNA pish somewhere recently - I work a corporate job and my tolerance for that type of corporate veneer is astonishingly low. Most clubs strategically plan in the background, have succession plans in place and quietly set up the replacement in good time. Aberdeen clearly haven’t done that for their past 2 appointments which should be very alarming. If it’s true they interviewed Thelin at the same time as Robson and opted for Robson - then have taken months to simply approach someone they previously interviewed I would call into question the undoubted expense of this very protracted, cloak and dagger operation. As for the managers prospects - I hope he does well (but not as well as Tony Doc) - it’s nice to have new blood in the league. I do however think Scottish football is unique and a big challenge for managers new to it - so I’d imagine giving him time will be inevitable. Of all the fan bases and owners I’d identify as patient Aberdeen would be very low down on that list.
  4. Bakayoko one of our most underrated players this season. I love the big man. Lots of work off the ball and has a fair share of goals but brings others into play - the first effort against Rangers from Boateng for example - Curtis Main isn’t making that chance. Main has always been a player I admired/hated playing against so def has his place - not slating him by any stretch - but he 100% needs a pre season for me.
  5. If you’re gonna let Dessers score 2 you deserve everything you get. Shame as with the implosion recently at Sevco I really fancied the Jambos to twist the knife. Bigot fest final incoming
  6. I’m sure after Glen Scotia has calmed down from the pitch invasion for the league not being officially won just yet he’ll be back to tell us how tin pot we are. I’m looking forward to it…
  7. @Glen Scotia - Someone I saw described as a decent DAB poster by a fellow Dee the other day. Now you’re here in the build up to your biggest game of the season with your head completely decapitated from your shoulders, stamping your feet and greetin. Football Clubs are judged by history across their whole existence - Dundee and Utd are equal in major honours which is really all that matters. Is it more embarrassing it took you so long to catch up or that we allowed you to? Both the same really. All that really matters is the here and now - the league position gives a clear example of which team is the better one in the city at the moment. Who knows might be Utd next year - but that’s what makes it so exciting. Now go and watch your team ffs - you can post in this forum next season. Thank you
  8. As someone who has only lived in Dundee (well only place in Scotland I’ve lived) I’m genuinely astounded that places other than Glasgow and its outskirts allow orange walks. its not a thing here. If they tried to make it a thing they’d be told to fucking do one. Seem to be seeing a lot of chat about them on here and across the internet (assume the algorithm seeing I spend time on here and it’s chatted about on here regularly) Saw a reference to it happening in the highlands (possibly county v rangers thread) and it blows my mind when you consider how oppressed the highlands have been historically. Just say no to the c***s.
  9. If there’s been one thing that’s become more and more noticeable as Utd edge towards finally winning the league - it is that their fans seem happier to come in here and chat. When they realized how inept they were this year and how annoyingly competent our season has been they seemed to forget their logins. Nice to have them back and particularly looking forward to scudding them and their dimwit (thank you biggy) manager next season for the relative peace it will bring. Thank You
  10. Do I detect someone pining for VAR… I don’t disagree things get picked up but tbh - I just don’t see that as a positive. Every minor infringement is becoming a penalty as we drift listlessly towards a no contact sport imo.
  11. Stay in town and drink there and get a taxi up to ground near KO - loads of good food and drink in Dundee centre. Can’t really go wrong. classic boozers - trades, Phoenix wanky cocktail vibes - DCA, Casa Real ales - BrewDog Generic - number 1s, Bertie Mooneys, orrrrr…. Head straight up around the ground and head to Frews, The Snug (not sure on away fans but Dundonians - even DABs - are not generally arseholes) on a budget - Fairmuir clubbie - loads of teles and £3 a pint - just pay your £1 donation on entry
  12. Cheers guys - I think if I was an Arab I’d be worried about him there - and I think your brief sabbatical has perhaps skewed your perception of the standard of refereeing in the top flight. We have Curtis Main for example who just slowly ambles about bullying defenders relatively unchecked I’ve seen bits of the young lad Graham and he looks to have a decent future - be interesting to see how he copes with the step up. I’m assuming Declan Gallagher is your other CH? Also a player I liked at Dens - how’s his legs holding up? I’d imagine he’ll be like Joe Shaughnessy for us - wins everything in the air but perhaps legs gone a little and a wee mistake in him?
  13. Do you reckon Kevin Holt is top flight standard? Especially now he plays centre half? Genuine question - really liked him at Dens but that was at left back and often thought he struggled with top flight physicality.
