Both the Levein quote and the Clarke quote are basically "he's already been capped." It just seems pretty unlikely his Dad is Scottish because you would assume Coates would have said as much in the Liverpool article - he just mentions that his family can't speak English. He may have qualified for Scotland through a grandparent, or maybe he didn't. It doesn't matter either way now.

The Liverpool article directly quotes Coates and clears the rumours about his background. His Dad isn't Scottish but has Scottish ancestry. Simple as that. Besides, I'd imagine international managers are constantly trying to make lines of inquiries with players who they think might be eligible for the country.

This is from a few years back but Armstrong is quoted as saying his ideal position would be playing off of a striker as a 10 anyway: https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/14749294.stuart-armstrong-is-in-his-best-position-and-back-in-form/ and then you can factor in his recent run of form for Southampton (6 goals + 5 assists in his last 21 league games) have all been from right midfield.

Should Scotland games be back on terrestrial TV?

Last set of internationals I bought a week pass from CDkeys for £9.80 which isn't too bad for two games -
Nice one, that link worked fine for joining.

I just tried to join the league but the code seems to be invalid

From what I can see McBurnie has missed 4 out of 11 squads since his debut... no idea if that would be considered above average though. He was injured for September 2018 (Belgium/Albania) and October 2019 (Russia/San Marino) and I don't think he was called up for the June 2019 games. (Cyprus/Belgium) The video where he says that getting called up for Scotland is shit (or something similar to that) probably doesn't help when he does pulls out of a squad though.

I think Fraser's mentality has to be questioned after he come out and said he hasn't played well because he was linked with a move to Arsenal
-
I think it would be harsh on Taylor if he was binned from the squad for Tierney... but I suppose that depends on Tierney starting for Arsenal. I do think having a natural right back offers more balance at the back too And on current form, I think I'd start Armstrong out wide over Forrest and McGregor in the middle. If I remember right Steve Clarke said he basically knew the team he wants to start, so it'll be interesting to see if he sticks largely to the group that played in the last few games

Seems like Fletcher's decision to make himself available will hang on his contract situation at Sheffield Wednesday. If he has a new contract by March then surely he would be comfortable enough to put himself forward for the playoffs.
-
He's only played 3 games for Scotland since becoming a guaranteed starter for Man United too - so it's a bit weird to expect to see his current form on show for Scotland when he hasn't really had the chance. Besides, it's not like McTominay has been any worse than any other midfielder in the games that he has played.
