  1. I hardly ever post in the forum but it's the Frightened Rabbit/Scott Hutchison symbol in claret and amber. I know they're jambos but they belong to everyone.
  2. I've been having another play around with the excellent spreadsheet which @Reluctant Hero poseted here: Was chatting to my dad the other day who lives in a Central constituency and I said that if I was still living in Lanarkshire I'd be SNP/Green but I have to suss out my voting intentions for Lothian. Having another look through the 2016 results and recent polling it's hard to see anthing other than SNP getting 9 constituency seats in Central. Lothian to me (I don't know the area too well - I'll be looking out for analysis from folk like Ballot Box Scotland) looks like 5 easy wins for SNP and 4 that I really don't know. Those are: Edinburgh Central (Ruth Davidson won by 2% last time) Edinburgh Pentlands (SNP beat Tories by 7% of the vote last time) Edinburgh Southern (Labour beat SNP by 3%. Don't expect Labour to do well but are these the same people who vote for Ian Murray?) Edinburgh Western (Lib Dems beat SNP by 7% last time). I typically don't like any party having a majority in government but with Independence front and centre I'll probably be happy to give my 2nd vote to SNP if they're only looking like winning 5 or 6 constituencies. Lothian should be good for 2 Greens on the list again I reckon.
  3. The machines in Paddy Power still won't pay out on my Biden outright bet in case anything kicks off. Most counts seemed to get to about 99% in about a day and the remaining 1% take a week or so. Reminds me of Windows 98.
  4. According to my MP there are three deaths in the care home in East Whitburn.
  5. Sure they just said on the radio it's at 1:30 today.
  6. My 11 year old son got tested last Tuesday as my partner is a key worker. She arranged it through her employer and we went to the drive through at Edinburgh Airport. They said that results would take up to 72 hours but we're still waiting a week later. Each time we chase it up we are given longer timescales - 5 days, 7 days.. Now they're just saying that there are delays and if he has symptoms he can be retested. I don't expect us to get the results and despite them being bar coded I can't seem to get an update on his particular test.
  7. They want Nicola Sturgeon to write their headlines for them. My favourite was the Record journo asking her if she's cancelling Christmas. She struggled to hide the smirk before giving the obvious reasonable answer.
  8. True. I'm happy enough not being normal when I see the prices of summer weddings.
  9. Did this go ahead? Our heads are all over the place with what we should do with our January wedding. On one hand surely we'll have found a way to live with the coronavirus by January? On the other it's not inconceivable that we'll still be social distancing, wearing face masks or being bounced in and out of lockdowns... We really don't want to have to postpone it and we've already chucked about £4k into it which we won't get back. She took out insurance in good time but it doesn't cover cancellation due to government regulations. We feel like come June/July we're going to have to make a decision of keep chucking money at it (probably worst case scenario it gets postponed) or cancel and cut our losses. We've got a few guests including her parents coming from abroad so that causes a bit of a headache. What are the chances of a normal wedding as planned come January?
  10. Been saving the live album since downloading it last night. The first few minutes of #timstwitterlisteningparty has the hairs standing up on the back of my neck. What a band.
  11. There is a second peak but that's because they ended the suppression after 5 months. Presumably they'd have to kick it in again. The 2/3rds thing comes from where they turn suppression on and off like a tap based on their required ICU beds forecast. I don't think we can keep it up either - I don't think we will handle it for much more than a month tbh. Everything 'worst case' is entirely possible due to the society this country has built for itself over the past few decades.
  12. From my understanding (reading the Imperial College report in bed at 2am) that graph is highlighing ICU beds required if we use the 'mitigate' method which relies on herd immunity which makes the curve dip quickly again. They're recommending the 'supress' method which the UK government is now starting to enact - this probably means we have ot keep measures such as social distancing in place until a vaccine is available (estimated 18 months), or at least for 2/3rds of that time. It's looking like holidays, football leagues and group activities of any sorts could take a back seat until summer 2021.
  13. Have just got through all of the posts since last night so fair enough. There's a fair amount of false information doing the rounds as usual so seeing it shared as 'true or not' is what bothered me. The only public health info I'm currently taking seriously is from the good Doctor Leitch.
  14. Seen this shared by someone accompanied with the comment 'don't know if true or not but better safe than sorry' Facebook should be quarantined forever.
