  1. Donnie Brasco Great wee gangster film here. Not a fan of Johnny Depp but he is excellent in this along with Pacino. Pretty simple storyline but very enjoyable and unexpectedly funny too. 8/10
  2. What a fucking episode. Bit gutted Carl isn't dead though... Also realised that the black guy with the dreads played Dre in Straight Outta Compton.
  3. Straight Outta Compton - 8/10 Thoroughly enjoyed this. Great performances all round, especially Ice Cube Jr and the guy who played Dre. Obviously a great soundtrack too. Spotlight - 8/10 Another brilliant ensemble performance, albeit in a very different film. Sterling stuff from Michael Keaton once again. The Big Short - 8/10 It took a while to get used to the off the wall style in this but I found it rather refreshing. Quite a few chuckles to be had in this which I wasn't really expecting - it's not quite Wolf of Wall Street levels of good but it's getting there. Powerhouse showing from Steve Carell as well (there's a gut-wrenching moment when he's talking to his wife about his brother.) The Revenant - 7/10 It looks amazing and the acting is superb but I found it a bit of a slog tbh. Too long and the story just wasn't as gripping as it could've been. Reckon Leo will finally get the Oscar for it though.
  4. I'm pretty sure Avery's lawyers have said, although I'm not sure it was in the documentary, that he had made an appointment with Halbach through her employer's office. She, and the people she worked with, knew where she was going and who she was going to see. It doesn't mean he didn't kill her but the caller ID stuff therefore makes no difference.
  5. The Hateful Eight - 7/10 Enjoyable enough but a bit of a let down. Probably my least favourite Tarantino film. Tim Roth was brilliant but it was Walton Goggins who was the star of the show for me.
  6. The Godfather: Part III - 7.5/10 Finally got round to watching this and I was pleasantly surprised. It's obviously not on the same level as the first two but still a decent film with Pacino as good as ever. I've read a few reviews and a lot seem to be panning Sofia Coppola's performance but I actually thought she was good as Michael's daughter, might just be that I fancy her a bit though! Andy Garcia was decent as well but it definitely missed Robert Duvall.
  7. Nope, it failed to send. Oh aye. Probably the best single season of TV I've ever seen.
  8. Spirited Away - 7/10 This was a bit of a letdown for me, the animation is obviously brilliant but the story didn't really grab me. I much preferred Grave of the Fireflies. Felt the same about My Neighbor Totoro as well (7/10).
  9. Death Proof - 8/10 Another one I wasn't expecting too much from but I was thoroughly entertained. Great soundtrack, and a great performance from Kurt Russell as Stuntman Mike. The lap dance scene isn't bad either.
  10. Tbh I just feel like watching the first series again in order to block out the memory of this series. The last two episodes weren't bad though.
  11. Miller's Crossing - 9/10 This caught me by surprise a bit actually, one of the best gangster films I've seen and probably my favourite Coen brothers film so far. Great performances all round.
  12. It's got to be It's a Wonderful Life for me.
