  1. I think you're being very generous here. We (Saints) were very poor and Kelly could have stayed at home today as we for the 2nd week in a row didn't trouble the keeper, apart from Rogers in the final minute last week. There's enough evidence there today to suggest that We'll will have enough about them to get out of trouble. We need to rediscover our fight and passing game.
  2. The best Christmas movie of all time and always have to leave near the end as somehow always get something in my eye [emoji24]
  3. You've just made these band names and albums up. Not one have I heard of. Not a fan of mainstream music?
  4. Springsteen - Letter To You Haim - Women in Music Pt III Waxahatchee - Saint Cloud Taylor Swift - Folklore Fontaines DC - A Heroes Death Pearl Jam - Gigaton The Strokes - The New Abnormal
  5. That was shite, not even mentioning the St Mirren defeat. Bottlers.... but we knew that from 1986.
  6. On my 4th or 5th listen now and it's all growing on me. The immediate standout tracks are being gradually replaced with others that on initials listen we're OK. Right Covid f**k off and let him tour[emoji849]
  7. My first gig was Motothead at the Glasgow Apollo in March 1983 (£4.50). It was on their Iron Fist tour and I was 16 and a bit nervous as I'd heard urban myths about their gigs being so loud that your ears would bleed[emoji1787]. They started playing as the stage descended on chains (very Spinal Tap). I should have seen Ozzy Osbourne the previous Oct '82 but the gig was cancelled due to illness by Ozzy - dodged a bullet.
  8. Any recommendations on where on line to buy vinyl. I've used Juno records and Amazon but interested to know if there are better options available.
  9. Fantastic night and what brilliant set list, what a man! We arrived at 11am to get number written on hand for pit and sat in the sun the rest of the day outside Hampden with about 1000 others. We were then let into the pit about 4.45pm and ended up being about 10ft from pitch. Bruce and the band are just such a great live band, connecting with the crowd and miles ahead of anyone else as a live act. I took both my kids (14 and 11) to their first ever gig, they enjoyed it even though it was a mammoth wait/show. I wanted them to witness 'the greatest show on earth' before its too late....Bruce is 67 this Sept! They might thank me in future years for taking them to see him. The 3.5 hour non stop set had something for everyone. Rosalita and Sandy for the diehards and lots of 'hits' for the people not as familiar with his full catalogue. Real rock out numbers like Murder Incorporated and Badlands and then the atmospheric American Skin/Point Blank, several audience participation numbers like Dancing in the Dark and Waiting on a Sunny Day. Not sure if we'll ever see the E Street band again (last words were "the E Street Band loves ya" not "we'll see you soon/again"). I would love to see him in the Hydro but sadly that will never happen unless as rumoured his next album/tour is the solo one like the Ghost of Tom Joad tour when he played solo acoustic at the Edinburgh Playhouse. If as I suspect it is his last tour of Europe then it was a blast.....just wish I could see him later on this or next month in Europe. I had heard that the sound was a bit ropey in Dublin the previous weekend, depending on where you were sound where we were was awesome but a couple of guys in my work were not so lucky and said it started off poor but improved. This is unforgivable and I don't understand how some areas the sound can be completely flawless (where I stood) to being so poor, I'd have been really pissed off if after shelling out the best part of £80 a ticket that I didn't get very good sound quality particularly as half the audience would not have a great view of the stage the least you expect is to see a screen and hear the songs as they were flawlessly played. I'm not criticising Bruce but the sound engineers should have their baws booted🙂 Heading to NYC in October and would love for this tour to complete Europe and on its return to the USA drag on so that it was still going on in Oct..chances are they'll head for a final Oz/NZ tour then.
  10. I had been toying with the idea of buying a turntable, amp and speakers for a few years but put off by cost of vinyl. About a month ago I came into some money and bit the bullet. I popped into Loud and Clear on Sauchiehall St "just for a look" I told myself....ha! I had been looking at Rega turntables and liked the look of them, the reviews were good. So when I was approached by one of the sales guys I mentioned I quite liked them and other than that had no idea what else would go with it. He asked if I would like to hear it in action and suggested I pick a couple of albums to try it out. I flicked through a vast pile of vinyl picking Tom Waits' My Blue Valentine, Love and Money's Strange Kind of Love and Led Zeppelin 1. Within about 10 seconds of "Somewhere" I was sold, thinking I've got to have this bad boy Back when I was at High School I used to buy vinyl weekly, occasionally 2 albums a week. I would save my £5 pocket money and about £3 dinner money a week, enough to buy 2 albums at the then price of £3.99. My collection consisted of lots of rock from AD/DC to Jethro Tull and Rush eventually expanding into all sorts of music. Then CDs ca,e along and the cost of vinyl shot up to ridiculous levels and became harder to get! Record shops like Listen, Virgin, 23rd precinct, Stereo 1 in Paisley disappeared. Fortunately I never binned my vinyl and for 20 years they were up my loft on a box. Amazingly these were in great condition and undamaged. Since buying my new turntable I have bought about a dozen albums, they are dearer than £3.99 that I was paying in the early 1980s but they are so much better than CDs....I can even read the lyrics and credits , which my ageing eyes struggle with! I would recommend this to anyone, although I still use Spotify/Sonos every couple of days I'll stick on anything from Neil Young to War on Drugs and crank up the amp.....so much richer sounding than "clean" CDs, hopefully the price and availability will improve. Go on treat yourselves.
