  1. The dens burn runs under the road there too (before heading down to the mill on prince's st) so that will probably play a part in Dens Road flooding. No idea about whether that effects the drainage from the ground or not though or if they are separate issues
  2. Don't know him or recognise him from our thread anyway but one click on his profile says he supports Patrick
  3. The lad is a Partick fan but don't let that get in the way of your double cup winning pish Random
  4. Almost certainly, I'm glad we are speaking out though even if it does come back to bite us
  5. Thats the club writing an official letter of complaint about the ref ignoring Mellon's head knock - luckily thats him out of hospital now https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68273991
  6. The Doc is quoted in the courier saying no more in or out this window. Some might go out after today but he doesn't want us left short if we end up with 8 players missing like the other night
  7. Fk me I know Livi are pish at the moment but that looks like a lineup for a diddy cup game and we're playing reserves to get them game time
  8. I got a bit of music 'saying something stupid like I love you' before the whining and salty tears began - its worth the wait
  9. So the 'IRP' have reviewed all the VAR decisions so far this season and there's only been 3 ruled as incorrect - two of them, Mulligans red and Bakayoko's goal at Livi were made against us...
  10. Glad to read this. Sounds like we won't be homeless at least. "Dundee will continue to play their home games at Dens Park until their new stadium is completed at Camperdown Park. Dens Park managing director John Nelms revealed this afternoon plans over the move to a fresh new complex had changed. Back in 2021, Courier Sport revealed the club’s plan at that time to buy back Dens Park and then sell it to help finance the building of their new home. In between leaving their home since 1899 and the new ground being ready, the idea of a groundshare at somewhere like St Johnstone had been considered. However, almost two years on Nelms revealed the “economic environment” had changed and, right now, there will be no need to groundshare. Vision That’s after club owner Tim Keyes and Nelms, through the company Dark Blue Property Holdings, bought Dens Park from local businessman John Bennett. How a Dundee FC stadium at Camperdown might look. Image: LJRH Architects. A “significant step” in their plans to move to Camperdown Park. Nelms told the press: “It’s a good day for Dundee Football Club. “Dark Blue Property Holdings, Tim and I, purchased the stadium – it’s the next step in a whole series of steps we have to take in order to have our vision of a new stadium for Dundee Football Club and the city in place. “Now having the stadium and the lease that comes with that stadium (Dens Park) we are able to maneouver much easier.” Continue The club aim to have their planning permission application submitted by the end of this calendar year. But what does the purchase of Dens mean for the club and the club’s home for the past 124 years? Dundee owners Tim Keyes and John Nelms. Image: SNS “Right now it’s about maintaining the stadium (Dens Park) until the other stadium is built,” he added. “I’m not sure it’s a good financial plan to own two stadiums! But that’s where we are at, at the moment. “We will continue to play at Dens and continue to keep it up and running, the best we can.” ‘Last ball kicked at Dens…’ So, no redevelopment? “At this moment in time, no,” Nelms added. “Before we said we might, I repeat might, have to play at a different facility. The economic environment at that time posed that we might have to sell Dens in order to have the funding to build the new stadium. “At this point in time, that’s not the case. “The idea is we would kick the last ball at Dens, the very next kick would be at the new stadium. “But we’ve been working at this since 2016 and things have changed multiple times. “We will continue to take the steps we need to to make the football club better and better.”
  11. They originally said they'd be reusing some bits of Dens I think. No idea if that is whole stands or just some decorative bits like the panelling in the board room. They also said they want to build houses on Dens to help cover the costs so I worry about the timing and if they want to build them first rather than after the new stadium is built since that could take years by itself.
  12. From today's courier... "Dundee owners Tim Keyes and John Nelms are close to finalising the deal to bring Dens Park back into club ownership. The stadium has been owned by local businessman John Bennett since 2009. However, it’s understood that situation is on the verge of coming to an end, with talks between Dark Blues chiefs and Bennett at an advanced stage. Courier Sport reported in 2021 that Keyes and Nelms planned on purchasing Dens as a key part of their new stadium project at Camperdown Park. Dundee owners Tim Keyes and John Nelms. Image: SNS The price had been set between the parties for a number of years, quoted by the BBC in 2013 as £750,000. Bennett, a former director at Dundee United, has been clear since taking ownership of the ground – to help the club through financial difficulty – that he would only ever sell Dens if it was going back to the club. During a 2015 attempt to buy the stadium back under then-chairman Bill Colvin, Bennett said: “I told Dundee at the time I bought the ground that I would sell it back if it was going into the hands of Dundee fans and I’ll stand by that.” John Bennett. Image: DCT Talks in 2015, however, fell through. In 2021 Keyes and Nelms’ purchase plan was delayed, then came close to fruition once more in November 2022, before again being delayed. Now it appears the long-running saga is finally set come to an end. In securing a deal for Dens Park, Dundee’s owners will take a major step towards their goal of building a new stadium at Camperdown Park. The planning permission process for the Dark Blues’ new home is expected to formally begin in the coming months."
