  1. Agreed. The brechin reference probably wasn't even necessary to make the points I was trying to make.
  2. Yeah that's a very fair point and makes sense. My point still remains that the other three have been very hard done by and I'd have liked my club (rovers) to have voted for a change that didn't relegate them.
  3. That's not how I intended my point to come across but reading back I understand that's how it may have read. My point (that I made very clumsily) was supposed to be that it's inconsistent to have 3 relegated and 1 not. Some teams suffering far worse than others for the same feat - being bottom when the leagues were called. I don't think ANYONE should be relegated. If I was a Hearts, Thistle or Stranraer fan i'd be fuming.
  4. If you read the rest of my post I said I was in favour of no teams suffering relegation and 2 up from league 2, league 1 and the Championship so I have no wish for brechin to suffer. 3 of the 4 bottom placed teams are relegated and it's inconsistent for 1 of the 4 to be immune. That was the point I was trying to make. I have no burning desire to see Brechin relegated. I'd have chucked Kelty and Brora up but then you could argue Bonnyrigg were hard done by as if they won their game in hand and beat kelty (at home I think) and they could have been top of the lowland league. So many knock on effects I just think 2 up with no relegation was the best way.
  5. The whole things a shambles. I'm a rovers fan and I'm really disappointed we didn't support a restructure that saw no team worse off in terms of league status. If Rovers were in Hearts position we would all be foaming at the mouth. I may be wrong but was one of the options that Hearts backed not going to see them stay on the top league with a few league one clubs effectively relegated to the bottom league of 3? There were absolute weapons like Neil McCann saying "but they're closer to the top league" to justify it. Yes Neil, but for teams like Forfar, Peterhead etc it's more likely they will be in more danger of relegation than back to back promotions to the top flight. The only option (IMO) on the table should have been 2 up from each league and no relegation. I still find it astonishing that Brechin have been bullet proof in all of this. * Edit to add... I don't mean Brechin should be relegated. I mean why do 3 of the 4 bottom placed teams suffer and 1 doesn't. I think there should have been no relegation* I have to be honest though, despite me totally agreeing that Hearts and Thistle have been done over, I think Anne Budge has been an embarrassment throughout. Do hearts fans not look at her and think she's mismanaged the footballing side of the club so badly that she's got to take a look in the mirror? That's a side issue though, and no fair minded person can think what's happening is fair and anyone who says that they would be ok with it if their team was in Hearts or Thistles shoes, their pants are well and truly on fire. Rovers fans giving it "let's boycott Tyncastle" must surely realise that if Hearts reciprocated it would be us who are hit harder financially!?! I still reckon the SPFL / SFA will manufacture reconstruction somehow.
  6. Just watched the highlights and would be gutted if we had a goal ruled out like the Stranraer's one was. Don't think it was a penalty either so evened itself out in the end I suppose.
  7. The cross you mentioned was very good but he also kicked a couple directly out the park from promising positions . Miller is far more comfortable in possession and (IMO) significantly improves us and I'd love to see him back in the starting 11. Watson struggles to retain possession when passing forwards so very often turns back inside which kills any potential attacks starting from that area of the park. He's better doing that than losing the ball right enough so playing to his capabilities is a good thing for the lad but it's not the same as having a full back who can start attacks. I agree that he's done fine but when we're going for a title we need better than just fine. He has been much better than I expected though having seen him struggle badly any time he's played in the past, so he's definitely improving. He's definitely not let himself or the manager down and he's doing his best which is all we can really ask when he's selected. Coming through the ranks I'd love him to come good and be a mainstay for us but I really don't see it. Maybe (hopefully) he'll continue to improve which i hope does and proves me wrong. Hopefully we get the players available to revert to a back 3 (MacKay, Davo and Bene) and have Miller and Macca as wingbacks soon. Agree with what most others have said about the game. On chances we could have won it but after the first half display a point was maybe fair enough. A striker would be very welcome to take the pressure off the current strikers who aren't scoring regularly. Someone mentioned that without Gullan our next top scorers is on 4 which is worrying. As for the incident with the keeper, has someone seriously reported him for skooshing his water bottle? Surely not.
  8. Though McManus and 14 (Longridge?) were very good for Falkirk today. Delighted to see Hendry back in the team. Looked decent for his first game back and the only negative was his part in the equaliser. He'll get stronger each week and what a boost to have him back. When he's match sharp he'll be huge for us, just as he was before his injury. 1-0 up against 10 and hoping we take all 3 points. When it's 1-1 with 10 v 10 i'd have bitten your hand off for a point as Falkirk were up for it and the fans started getting behind the team with a good vocal backing. Watson worked hard today and always wanted the ball and as much as I don't like saying it, I think this level of football is beyond him. We may well need him over the next few weeks so hoping a run of games proved me wrong. Really good turn out from us in the away stand and a good atmosphere. Anyone fancy a game at CB next week?
  9. Don't disagree. I was just pointing out the comment wouldn't be based solely on pre season games and will be based on some outstanding performances last season. He has the potential to be a brilliant player but with no league games played this season it's a bold statement to make. I have to admit that the thought of Hendry linking up with Vaughan gives me a semi.
  10. I think the comments are based largely on how impressive he was for us last season before his injury. He's also had a good start to pre season, which I still class these cup games as being.
  11. We were will beaten by a better side. I thought the ref was poor and let Dundee away with more than he let us away with but of the 3 big decisions I think he got 2 out of 3 right. 1st goal - saw no foul at the time and the highlights haven't changed my mind. Penalty for Dundee - nudge on Mendy and should have been a free kick to us but still very silly to challenge like that. Rovers penalty claim - at the time I thought it was a pen but having seen it back I would be gutted if we conceded one like that so no pen for me. Thought Matthews was ready good for us yesterday. Was on holiday all of pre season so this is the first of me seeing Mendy. A tad worried and hoping it was just an off day. Please can we have a proper right back play at right back this season!
  12. I heard that shout as well, and so did my 4 and 8 year old kids. Horrific shout and my 8 year old couldn't get his head around it. It came about ten rows down and most people will know who it was. Fair play to a couple of young lads (early teens) who shouted down that it was out of order. Before anyone starts the 'say something at the time and not on here' chat, I've challenged similarly offensive shouts at away games with the kids there and it hasn't gone well.
  13. You're being very generous putting that down to a freak bounce Zen but you're spot on when you said it rocked his confidence. About 4.40 mins in...
