  1. Aye I’m done. What an awful statement.
  2. Some of the vitriol I’ve seen is a bit much and it also just ends up playing into his hands as he can brush off any criticism by saying it comes from a section of the tinfoil hat support that just give him unwarranted abuse. Tagging his personal twitter account and calling him a c**t is definitely a bit wild. I think most comments on here are fair game though unless it’s threatening or violent. You’re off your head if you’re reading Pie and Bovril as a manager of a lower league Scottish club. His comments were certainly meant to sting fans though and while I don’t think that makes him a bad human being, it does make him look like an arse and is right out the Aitken playbook of acting all nice and smiles until faced with criticism. Faz has been involved with the club a lot off the pitch and that’s grand and definitely much needed. That being said it shouldn’t play any sort of factor in whether he should continue managing the club - he shouldn’t. It also begs the question should the board be more proactive in some of these things instead of leaving it to the manager of the football team. John Steele wasn’t great but he at least made himself appear available unlike McKay who seems to hide in the shadows.
  3. Very bold of him to say that when we all know he’s on here all the time and loves a dig in his interviews at people “not believing”. The mask has slipped once again.
  4. Since the gaslighting has started already, and will likely continue when(if) we hear from the board. Let’s remember what we were given this time last season. Now we need to plan for the forthcoming season and to this end the work has already started, albeit with a different goal from the one we had anticipated and hoped for – our clear aim is to return cinch League One in our 150th anniversary year. We have Stevie Farrell under contract as manager, along with a number of players, so we are slightly better positioned than in many previous seasons when recruitment was delayed. This is a valid criticism which has been levelled at the Board in the past. When Stevie Farrell joined the club, he began the process of rebuilding a full squad, and we have put plans in place to enable a smoother, proactive pre-season both in recruitment and performance. With backing and preparation, we believe that he will get this club promoted back to cinch League One. Everyone within the club will work together, as well as with Stevie, to identify and remedy our shortcomings. Indeed, this is work which has already started. We will be speaking with him over the next few days to discuss his budget, which will inevitably be reduced, though we will endeavour to limit the reduction as much as is possible, in keeping with our commitment to regaining cinch League One status. We will provide support to him and his staff in every way possible to achieve our objectives. Recognising the huge disappointment which all of us as supporters are feeling, we ask you to unite behind the team and continue to give your support to your football club, especially at this low point. Our supporters are extremely important to us and are the heart of the club. The Young Sons in particular are our future and are valued by all of us at the club, especially by the players. Please be assured the Chairman, Board, and everyone at the club will continue to work hard to restore our place in cinch League One at the end of the next campaign.
  5. That interview is a complete embarrassment. My expectations for the board are extremely low but I’m begging - get this clown to f**k.
  6. An apology from the club - no matter how useless - would’ve been nice. Noticed the website hasn’t even been updated yet with the latest result.
  7. https://dumbartonfootballclub.com/club-statement/ Well this aged like milk. I expect we’ll get another one of these where it’s all about the process, we’re building for the future and promotion isn’t a given. This was a complete repeat of last season. Assemble a decent squad on paper, start with some positive results, then slowly decline over the season until it all collapses in the play-offs. What’s the constant between those two seasons I wonder? Two campaigns where he has failed multiple times in each. He fucked 8th or above in League 1, then proceeded to embarrass us in the playoffs resulting in relegation. He fucked the league, then proceeded to embarrass us in the playoffs even more than the last time. The contract extension was absolutely ludicrous. As has been said, no one was going to come in for him, there was a lot of football still to play, and despite good results there was always a sense that they wouldn’t last due to lacklustre performances. We had over a month to prepare for the play-offs. That result is inexcusable. I didn’t renew my season ticket last season, and I won’t be coming back this year unless the board listens to the fans or Farrell falls on his sword. Neither of these things are going to happen. We’ll get the same song and dance we got from Farrell and the board last season. “People who know me know I’m not a quitter” “We’re as disappointed as you are” etc etc. We are most likely stuck with this loser until 2025. To quote Farrell - “Now let’s go and strive for more of those good times, and give 150 years of the club the ending to the season that it deserves.” We certainly got what we deserved.
  8. £100 for electricity and £100 for gas
  9. Looking for any advice available. Moved in a few months ago to my first flat and just kept it going with the current provider on a standard variable. After the news on Tuesday I had a look at my account and was offered a fixed tariff with a 57p per kWh unit rate for electricity. There’s a 14 day cooling off period so thought I’d just take it and look more in-depth before the period expires and decide from there. 57p is obviously more than double the cap at the moment but it’s quite a big increase to be paying from now. Is there anything else I should be looking out for? I’m less concerned about the gas price as it doesn’t get used much (granted that’ll change in winter likely but the building is quite warm).
  10. A few weeks ago v after the result. I see he hasn’t learned to keep his mouth shut over the close season. I agree that there’s no point about talking about him going anytime soon. The writing was on the wall from February last season and the board didn’t act - even after relegation. He will never resign. He will always think of something to say. Personally I still have not and will not be renewing my season ticket. Godspeed to those that are.
  11. Much focus has been put on our defence but going forward we’re just as bad. No one has the confidence to take a shot on. As seen by that sitter from Paton (I think?)
  12. Rotten performance. Great save from Wright. Played for the point and it means f**k all considering Peterhead won. We are going down.
  13. I know Bronsky had a nightmare last week but Stanger at CB sounds like a recipe for disaster. Josh back should hopefully mean we threaten more than we have in the past 3 weeks.
  14. Hutchinson out is probably the best of that news he’s absolutely brutal in central midfield. Slightly more confident with the squad news but that will likely have vanished by the 4th minute of the game. If we go behind it’s curtains.
