  1. Excellent post. Stopping going to scottish football (SFL level and above anyway) shouldn't mean any need to lose all interest in trying to change the game. If the game collapses as a result of fans not being listened to, we need to be there to create a game out of the ashes of it. The fight will go on long after we may have abandoned bothering going to the games.
  2. was the vote not along the lines that a simple majority was needed simply to allow SFL assosciate membership, but that the amendment allowing for div 3, or division 1 subject to negotiations, needed a 2/3 majority? in that case, regardless of how the 1st vote goes, there is surely now no chance of division 1 being allowed? My understanding was that if that amendment failed, a new question would have to be put to the table, in order to even let them play in division 3. However I fully expect major revelations in all red tops tomorrow and a last desperate attempt by doncaster and regan to bulldoze this through. My gut feeling is this will be further delayed, as will the start of the season, until it emerges Rangers can't put a team together and there will be 41 clubs when the season starts, and this will be swept away until next season.
  3. The reason this is being delayed is because the SFA/SPL are fighting so hard to get sevco into division one. I am ever more optimistic that if they were to be playing in division one, they'd be there by now. On the other hand... it could be (although I highly doubt it) that they want the decision to have sevco in division one as late as possible so as to protect season ticket sales across the divisions.

  5. the invite would be forthcoming if it was a choice between berwick rangers, for example, and a club like dunfermline/partick thistle/ morton. the hope has to be that enough clubs reject the idea of accepting invites to SPL2, as all will know that in the eyes of fans this is tantamount to voting them into SFL1. Regan and Doncaster are desparate, SPL2 is a negotiating tactic, scaremongering, as are most figures. highly unlikely SPL2 is achievable.

  7. Hopefully the reason the propaganda machine of Jim Traynor et al and Cockwomble, the SPL etc are spouting so much barely believable pish is because they are desparate and know that really, anything other than newco to div 3 is almost impossible to deliver, so they are desperately trying to conjure up a game-changing argument for parachuting rangers in. I'd be doubtful that even 6 SPL clubs see a benefit of having Rangers in the SFL 1 if they have any idea of fan outrage on this issue. Doncaster is probably on performance related bonuses, dependent on what money he can raise the SPL through sponsorship, that would no doubt influence his position on where the newco go as much as anything else, as well as being able to put on his CV that he oversaw record sponsorship deals etc. Would suit him better than to say 'I saw SPL revenue drop 50% under my stewardship'.
