    Alan Little's book is probably the best introduction- the one that accompanies the series you are now watching on youtube. Noel Malcolm and Misha Glenny are also worth reading on the subject. I can give you more detailed suggestions if there is something of particular interest re: the Balkans once you have finished the series...
