  1. Going through "resilience training" at the moment. Biggest pile of pish I've ever attended. I'm privileged to work with very intelligent people who concur with my assessment. The sinister thing about it is when anyone doesn't understand any aspect of the programme( which is quite often) the trainer adopts a Thatcherite stance by trying to convince us that there is something wrong with us rather than modifying the session. We have to watch out for our icebergs and be careful of what lights our fires. How we got this far in life without these principles is a miracle really.
  2. Recently while walking through times square I was stopped by a guy trying to punt tickets for the comedy club. I politely replied no thanks. The guys asks where I'm from " guess" I replied ( now in spite of having left Scotland over 30 years ago I still have a pretty strong accent) he then says " I'm really good at this........Australia!" I near pissed myself and fair play to the guy he laughed too so neither of us really needed the tickets for the comedy club after all.
  3. Just back. What a fucking place! What should have been 5 days turned into 6 due to fog in England delaying us for a day. Stayed in the new Yorker in manhattan. Comfy enough and ideally located. Breakfast is king and me the wife and weans had a feast every morning eg French toast waffles bacon sausage eggs pancakes with gallons of syrup. Did not need to eat again until evening. Diners are great to eat in. Better value than a lot of the restaurants. Main sightseeing stuff was top notch and the queues moved quite quickly. Felt very safe and the locals were very helpful. To be honest we are all a bit pissed off to be back such was the impact of the place, cannot wait to go back. We used the new York pass and found it to be great value. It would take forever to see it all as the scale of the place is mind boggling. If anyone is going soon and needs help getting around then I'm your man. Loved every minute
  4. Probably already said but I'm too lazy to trawl back.. People who say " would of" instead of "would have" drives me bananas. It's so commonplace now I have tried let it go but I can't. One more. People, generally elderly, who say shree when they mean three. Please help me.
  5. Loved reading all the posts on here.saying I'm envious doesn't even come close. Hope it's a great game with a great atmosphere. Both teams well deserving of their day at hampden. You lucky lucky people!!
  6. Enjoyed reading all the posts on here. Soak up every second of the build up. Whatever the outcome both teams are there on merit and are capable of producing a great game of football in a wonderful atmosphere. The thing I love about non OF involvement is the hope of both sets of fans rather than arrogant assumption. The emotion of fans on here is great to read. Armageddon indeed!
  7. Oops " their shite" .on second thoughts, no " they're shite" that's better.
  8. Coming back from any training days we are now expected to "cascade" what we've learned to our colleagues. Another one that twists my nuts is "silo" mainly because I can't get where it's supposed to fit. I just want to walk out the door and not go back when they start there shite.
  9. Guy with the kilt shorts looks like he wearing calipers
  10. People who miss out the word "and" from their sentence. Eg go see instead of go and see or go get instead of go and get. Yet another Americanism creeping into our language. It drives me mental. Must be an age thing
  11. From the days when the docks in Glasgow were flourishing. Unfortunately so was the thieving. The lads who worked there had a look out who they nicknamed William Tell, so called because anytime he saw someone coming he would shout " come away, come away"
  12. I've always found it funny to see people in wheelchairs being pushed along in an orange walk. And why is it the women are all a weird shape and can't walk or march in time?
