  1. Got on Aberdeen/rangers -1 double on Sunday - 2.47 odds. Have obviously dropped. Aberdeen were 8/13 first up which to me seemed very generous. Ayr haven't strengthen much at all from last season. Think 2/1 thistle is generous also albeit a tough game and am sure thistles cup record is woeful, in fact can't recall the last good major cup run they had.
  2. Directly from your management team and scout at Livingston on Saturday apparently (very reliable). No surprise on Stirling obviously, slight surprise on Pettigrew (solid defender who gets forward, questionable distribution) and also Gallagher (big fan of and thought he’d stay with Aitken though I am sure he impressed Duffy the season before and also note he scored a few against them in the first cup game)
  3. He has already signed for you for next season along with our right back, Pettigrew. Heard Grant Gallagher is off to Morton too.
  4. Very decent looking midweek card in the UK and the wind is to drop in the next couple of hours! I know I was partly ridiculed a few weeks back for tipping up Stranraer but I said immediately after that I stood by much of my reasoning and 2 comfortable wins have followed since to make in 4 wins in 5. I think it was a case of me perhaps underestimating Peterhead in that particular fixture as their form in recent months has to now be described as superb. Anyway, I am on Stranraer again tonight. Backed them Saturday when they were available at 9/4 or 11/8 DNB. Now favourite in places. Wullie Gibson has made quite a difference (2 superb free kicks in last 2 games) and with a bang on form Paul Cairney plus Andy Stirling, we really do have quality and pose a threat from midfield. Gibson is suspended at Forfar on Saturday so hopefully will be eager to impress. We have also added a really decent keeper from Wrexham to cover for the injured McGurn and have finally had a settled starting line up in the past 6 weeks. The wheels seem to have come off for Rovers a bit with some heavy losses and then the sale of a couple of players last night including highly regarded Mullin to Livi. The prices for this are probably about right now but weren’t when first up. Elsewhere am on Arsenal 5/6, Spurs 10/11, West Ham 10/11 and Rangers/Man City at evens. Wolves and Stenhousemuir also appeal at their prices against struggling opposition.
  5. Saw Stenhousemuir first hand on Boxing Day. They were absolutely awful and no exaggeration that they could have conceded 10. On the basis of what I saw I couldn't resist Airdrie tonight at 13-10 especially as they have netted 3 in 3 of their last 4 games I think. Hoping big Malcolm is retained at the back for Stenny and they are also unlikely to have Jason Scotland back.
  6. I agreed when I looked first up yesterday. (I was lining up 5/2 draw no bet, now 9/4) The price was definitely took big and still is slightly at 7/2 however the more I thought about it, you have to acknowledge how hard Rovers are to beat and also score against. Their home record is also exceptional. I am thinking along the old adage that you cant spend value here. The Queen Park price at Montrose is one I like much more. They have been hammered in but were 17/10 draw no bet first up. I got on at 6/4 last night. Now as short as 8/11. Win was 13/5 but now 9/5. Montrose, like Rovers, have been excellent this term, especially at home but seem to have some key injuries and have had a couple of poor results of late.
  7. Am hearing Wullie Gibson will be joining you. No great surprise.
  8. Aitken will be announced tomorrow. Good appointment.
  9. Both would be fantastic signings in league 2. Winter proven in league 1 though. Be surprised if Albion, Stenny, Ayr or Airdrie weren't in fir him.
  10. Opened an account with them a few weeks back and has no issue placing 3 pretty big singles on football matches (2 of which lost if I recall correctly). Since then I have attempted to place 2 medium sized snooker singles and 1 small accumulator with them and on each ocassion they have refused to accept the bet instead only allowing considerable smaller stakes (eg £6-60 instead of £70, £7-60 instead of £50 and £16-6 instead of £30). There customer service team claim their trading department reserve the right to limit stakes. Quite frustrating as they were happy to accept the football stakes which were up to 5 times as big. Is this a common issue with Boylesports does anyone know?
