    The Scottish League was formed in 1890 and the first President of the Scottish League was Alex Lawrence, the Dumbarton President. The very first championship was shared between Dumbarton and Rangers F.C. who tied with 29 points from 18 fixtures. Had either of the subsequent methods of separating tying teams been in force (Goal Average or Goal Difference)....
