  1. Stranraer was and will remain our 'local' derby, as you have suggested, as we are the 2 clubs from the heaviest populated areas within D&G and although we now have Annan in the senior ranks they will never replace Stranraer as our derby 'rivals'. Without sounding patronising to Annan, they are probably classed by some as their Wee team, just as Gretna were pre the GR£TNA days, when even then they were never our rivals; only despised by many and hated by others. With regards to our final game against GR£TNA, I have often wondered on subsequent visits to Raydale whether or not the amount of thumping that was so rhythmically sounded out on the shed roof had anything to do with said roof no longer being in place ( I can still see bit after bit of it leaving its fixings )
  2. I know it used to be one of the biggest in the UK, but I'm sure during the Souness reign it was reduced for a European game and was never reinstated to its previous size, and that was possibly due to punters who had executive boxes claiming they could now see the touchline. Why I recall this I do not know, especially when I have trouble remembering what one had for breakfast
  3. No player is bigger than any team, those who have left then thanks for your services, those who we may sign I hope you do a job for us, move on.
  4. I very much doubt that any team, even the ugly sisters, will be awarded 10 penalties between now and the end of the season. He is the most lethargic player (let alone striker) i have seen in years! He tends to wait for the ball rather than fight for it.
  5. I would tend to disagree, having been part of the 'bucket brigade' the MAJORITY of people who donated did so on the understanding that it was NOT to go directly to the club without terms being made that the monies were 'ring fenced', or as someone pointed out, not 'into the blackhole'. I also find it strange that you say you knew the SoS was not a club run thing, therefor I thought it would stand to reason that it was third party? Maybe if some transparency had been shown by the club in the outset rather than the Chairman going cap in hand to supporters groups then a lot of this confusion could have been avoided?
