  1. It can't happen. It won't happen. And that's even if he could play for us again within the next 2.5 years of the contract he currently has with Raith Rovers. Unfortunately, he's been badly advised (by his agent?) that he could go back to play full-time. There's absolutely no way our Board would/could authorise his return, and all that's going to happen here is it's going to widen the gap between some fans who don't see it that way, and the Board. I, personally, still have a lot of reservations about the law in cases like this. Had he simply been Joe Bloggs, in a job other than one where he was earning thousands a week, this would never seen the inside of a court. The annoying thing is that he now seems to be a decent responsible family man, as opposed to the daft 21 year-old who got himself into this situation 11 years ago. My final point is that Goodie, and the complainant, both have kids. Who was taking them into consideration during the media frenzy of the last few days? There's no way we can any longer be part of that.
  2. The only good thing Wee Barry did for us was to leave when he did. If he hadn't, we'd currently be fighting to get out of the Lowland League. Good luck (apart from when you play us, obviously).
  3. Even although we've been fairly shit this season - I'd rather have our problems than Alloa's. We did warn you. And, as for pricing - Clydebank v Clyde is £10 (£5 for concessions). Presumably as agreed by both teams - as I would have thought should also have been the case for Alloa v Bonnyrigg.
  4. Not all Clyde fans think that, in fact I'm sure most don't. I expect a hard game, and would settle for a 1 goal win right now. Realistically, we should have enough about us to win, as we're currently 3 levels above Clydebank - but it's the Cup and anything can happen in a one-off game. Having said that, I'll be devastated, and raging, if we lose on Saturday. Looking forward to it though.
  5. The surprising thing about that game is the attendance. 596 . Almost double that next week. Anyway, more importantly - where is the best/nearest pub for a pint before the game?
  6. I agree with those saying Rumsby played well today. Anybody saying different has their mind up before kick-off that he shouldn't be playing. Tade made the difference when he came on (which is not a slight on Love). 3 good goals . Let's just enjoy them, and a welcome 3 points.
  7. That was never a penalty yesterday though. The ref probably gave it on the basis that as they kept appealing for one, he had to give one eventually. We had a similar, but much more blatant, obstruction on Goody not given.
  8. I'm so glad we've won 3 games in a week. God knows what the negativity would be like if we lost 3 games .
  9. Ally Love was the most pleasant surprise for me. Looks like he's lost a fair bit of weight, looks much fitter than he did previously, buzzed about all over the place, and scored a screamer of a goal. Gomis looked class, Goody scored his usual couple of goals, Mitchell safe in goals, Balatoni (and Rumsby) solid at the back, Splaine, Andrew & No.25 (Kennedy?) looked fairly promising. And, of the others, there were only a couple who I felt need to step up considerably from their performance today. Reasonably pleased with what I saw today. Hopeful for the season ahead .
  10. I only saw the second half, but must have been a watching game. I was reasonably impressed with what I saw, and agree with the comment above. Couldn't tell you who some of the players were (no numbers on tops) but Mitchell, Nicoll, Gomis, and one of the forwards (don't know who) were the ones I was most impressed by. The downside was - both Nicoll & Gomis would have been booked if this wasn't a friendly. Nowhere near as negative as some of the comments here .
  11. I just hope none of our new signings are on P&B. If any of them are, they're probably questioning why they agreed to sign for us. They're already being told they're rubbish - before they've even kicked a ball for us . I can't say I'm jumping about with excitement about our new signings - but I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt before castigating them. It's not unheard of for players who look as if they've never seen a ball before with one club, to then turn into decent players with another club - where a different manager can bring out the best in them. Do we trust our manager's judgement, or not? I do, so let's give his signings a chance before writing them off.
  12. I guess I can already make plans to do something else on 6th November then. May as well call it off now .
  13. Ah, but who is his big team ? As a Clyde fan, I wish I had a fiver for every time I've been asked that by supporters of the Bigot Brothers. They can't accept that you actually support a team other than one of them. You're either For them, or Against them
  14. Wheelie Bins turned into ice-buckets. Protein shakes. Good right-winger and ok left-winger played on the opposite wings - finishing both their careers at Clyde. Playing 4-3-3 against Rangers at Ibrox (we lost 8-1). Terrible man-management. Falling out with players. Constantly getting rid of players cos they weren't good enough (though he signed them). Almost 80 players in his 3 years at Broadwood. Just failed to take us into the Lowland League . In fairness, he must have learned some lessons before going to Kelty, but I wouldn't have him back if he paid us. So, apart from that - good luck Alloa .
  15. A blatant foul, and should have been an obvious red card. I think Jim Duffy thought the same, as Omar was subbed immediately. A nasty piece of work .
