  1. I thought Darvel were on for the comeback today prior to Kennedy’s substitutes and change to a back 3. They were completely toothless first half but a goal was coming in the 2nd. Some strike by the boy Monti mind you. It’s the first time I’ve seen Beith so it’s difficult to rate them. Took one of only two chances and scored a wonder strike but they seem to have the players that can make a difference (Monk, Conti and the captain).
  2. I’ve got no horse in the race but I’ve found myself at the last two Darvel games and some of the officiating against them has been a bit strange. I’ve got a memory like a sieve so the only incident I can point to at the moment is the penalty to draw it level. I’ve never seen that given before. Hurlford’s keeper was fantastic though. The one on one when he managed to get a toe on the ball changed the course of the game. Then he had the further save in the second half. Darvel take too long to get started and for McShane to get on the ball. When they finally turned it on, they had pollok on the ropes.
  3. I’ve heard plenty of the conversation on this page, previous pages and elsewhere. Maybe the ire and energy should be directed at where the issue is arising: the footballing authorities. On how many occasions are we going to see them ride roughshod over leagues and clubs to get the outcome they desire?
  4. I love supporters of clubs in the lowland leagues worrying about the integrity of competition and their league because of the presence of B teams. The league was created with a group of franchise sides to provide the likes of Spartans entry into the league system. The answer to possibly not having a team nominated for playoffs? Be better. And if the answer is that B teams are too good, then stop blocking their admittance to higher divisions and the chance of promotion. It would be nice if, instead of claiming that you don’t want to play ‘youth sides’, you were just honest and said it’s because it’s the old firm. Keeping in mind Cumbernauld Colts, Glasgow BSC and Caledonian Braves are playing in your league.
  5. He will split carries with Greene. How much, I don't know, but he will. WR can and do have big seasons in their rookie year and Watkins will be one of them. Who's the third ahead of Matthews? I believe they've got him practicing with the 2nd team to push him to become better - particularly in press coverage but he will be the slot receiver for them. I think he's another that will have a fairly big season. I'm really not having Benjamin. He's too inconsistent but could have decent numbers this season through default in Carolina but long term, as GingerSaint said, I don't think he'll be considered a top player to be relied upon.
  6. From what I've read Watkins (WR at the Bills) has lived up to the hype, Sankey will be a good option for fantasy but will split a fair few plays with the others and Matthews (WR at the Eagles) is down for a fairly large role. Besides that, I would stay clear of the rest if it's an option.
  7. I hope so! I do think the defense will let us down though. Our front 7 are fairly strong but it's the secondary, as usual, that looks suspect. Wasn't keen on the Ryan Clark signing and Tracey Porter as the nickel CB gives me the fear. Then add to that the inconsistency shown by the younger guys last season (Amerson at CB and Rambo at S) who are more than likely going to be starters or see significant game time, it doesn't look good. To be fair to Amerson, he showed flashes on being a very good player whilst Rambo didn't. The offense, on paper anyway, looks top 5 and will hopefully be capable of carrying us through games.
  8. I'm a Redskins fan and watched every minute of all 16 games last season (even the embarassing ones) and I can assure you, Morris is still the same player as he was in his rookie season. Helu will find himself splitting his carries with Seastruck rather than gaining any on Morris. I'll confidentally predict 1500 yards and 6TDs plus for The Butler.
  9. Just dawned on me to come on here and see if there were any fantasy leagues on the go. Can I possibly be signed up for this please? I know it's pushing the 8 in Div 3 up to 9 but if we're struggling for the 10th, I can have my mate join to make up the numbers. Cheers!
  10. Redskins fan my friend. I don't see them retaining two kickers on the roster given how poor STs were last year and how we have signed a few specialists who won't likely contribute much to offense/defense.
  11. If you had Forbath (who's a good kicker but without the leg strength for touchbacks) and about to face Holliday twice a year, you'd want that as well. We'd be as well asking for the 50 just to be on the safe side.
  12. There's an NFL forum here now!? Not been on in a couple of years so please excuse the astonishment.
  13. Remember this thread? http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php/topic/131979-pre-match-comments-aberdeen-vs-accies/page__st__75

Just when you thought you'd got away with it? How do you want to go about it?

  14. so yer no deed then. WTF have ya been???

  15. They were an utter pain in the arse at the Cambuslang - Blantyre game earlier. Ended up leaving twenty minutes earlier to get away from them all.
