  1. Has it been confirmed Zac is leaving us? Very disappointed if so. A potential match winner at this level unless played out of position... This season HAS been far better than last season for me (which wasn't hard in fairness). We've had some excellent performances over the course although far too many times not leaving with the amount of points we really should have gained. Had we held on to those multiple leads particularly in the first half of the season, we'd have had some excellent momentum to carry with us and naturally we'd be closer to the summit of the league table. Unfortunately we became far too predictable in that we'd lose extremely soft goals, a lot of the time from simple crosses. Infuriating really. Personal favourite matches have been the two home games V Linlithgow and the Hearts B away game. Also really enjoyed Kilwinning away in spite of the game not being great. On the flip side, the Berwick games a few weeks ago is genuinely one of my worst experiences watching Cowden even compared the Bonyrigg games. I love the guy, but seeing an ancient Dougie Hill bounce up the park late in the game through our midfield made my eyes bleed for about the 12th time that day. I know it's a bit of if my aunty had balls she'd be my uncle, but with that momentum and a higher points tally going into the final stages of the season, I think Calum may well still have been at the club due to still having a bit of enthusiasm for next season. Just look at the start he's made in his new job. I know it's only til the end of the season but I see no reason why Stevie Crawford wouldn't want to be the gaffer next season too. A bit of continuity would be good rather than starting afresh again. He's hugely experienced and a decent guy to boot. I'd be happy with him at the helm. f**k me it's an experience being a Blue Brazilian.
  2. Lithgae gathering dust on our mantlepiece already. Cracking result tbf.
  3. Also, I certainly wouldn't be against Robbie Horn ending up at us. If he's even interested.
  4. I like Calum. Sure it didn't work out how we all hoped it would this season but I'd rather have seen him get another go at it next season. Alas, I good move for him and wish him nothing but the best. But if he tries to pinch Zac I'll find his house and on his doorstep.
  5. Calum was in the new stand for the most part. We were absolutely rotten yesterday. Probably the worst performance since the last time Berwick came and dished out a pumping. Literally can't add to anything already said but the defending was farcical. Honking. Even the goal we scored came from a goalkeeping brain fart. I believe a few players are carrying various niggles etc but it doesn't excuse how brutal we actually were. Berwick didn't do much wrong atall and were very efficient in their work wothout being spectacular. They gave their decent and vocal support a great day out. Awful awful awful.
  6. New grounds and new teams to play is decent enough. A novelty if you will and there are a surprising amount of teams with few resources but manage put a decent side on the park. But it doesn't excuse this league of being an absolute shambles and that's without including the nonsense of the B teams. We've hardly set any records of having a large support in many years, but there's a number of sides with pretty much zero supporters. It's absolutely no contest compared to being in League 2 or above so I can't agree with it being 'not bad' here. It's absolutely honking. That said, teams such as Linlithgow and Boness are a welcome addition and expect over the next 2 or 3 years that it will be slightly more competitive with a number of decent sides looking to come up and indeed fall down from L2. What it does do is provide an opportunity for teams/individuals/consortiums to do an EK or a Kelty, by throwing a ludicrous amount of money at a squad in order to move up the ladder. Unless there's 1 or 2 other teams doing the same thing, there will be no contest for top spot. It is what it is.
  7. It's not even a debate. Straight to the knockout stages of the Viaplay Cup as a sweetener for the inconvenience caused too I'd imagine.
  8. Really really enjoyed the episode with the ambassadors. Broony was probably my first Cowden hero, great to hear him (and the other guys) speaking so fondly about his time at the club. The episode with the gaffer was decent too however the sound was atrocious unfortunately. I assume it was done in his office but the background noise was almost unbearable at times. Good win today on paper, happy with the 3 points. Fair play to whoever made the trip through to it.
  9. The officiating throughout every single level in this country is absolutely dreadful. This league along with the 'officials' is an absolute abomination though. In saying that, we can't blame the officials for our league position. Yesterday is not one we can expect to win, never mind compete but our position in this league is extremely poor, no getting away from that.
  10. The £ast Kilbrid£ runaway train too much for the blue brazilyins. Shocker of a scoreline though
  11. Very happy with the contract extensions so far. Building a very decent nucleus going into next season but the big one for me is Zac. I'd be shocked if other clubs aren't sniffing around though. He's a proper talent. Anyone know what Craig Barr is upto these days? Is he playing atall? Also Craig Thompson - seems to ha e vanished off the face of the earth. Just interested that's all.
  12. I never enjoy or want to see my team getting beat, but genuinely, I couldn't give a rats arse about that game today. Joke of a 'competition'.
  13. Hugely disappointed in our first half performance today. I think Callum got it all wrong to begin with against a very well organised and efficient side. I think the triple substitution at half time backs this viewpoint. First goal was well taken but both goals were so preventable it was unreal. Second half was far more enjoyable and competitive but we just couldn't find a goal, even when gifted on a plate for Ewan with around 15 minutes remaining. Absolutely no complaints about the end result. Very much an excellent team effort from Boness throughout. We really miss McNab in the middle of the park too.
  14. Anyone with first hand info of the park as of today? Looking at the forecast would suggest we get a game of football tomorrow!
