  1. Given Morton are such a successful club in comparison to Ayr they must dominated us over the years. Anyone any idea of the head-to-head record?
  2. For the record, Ayr never entered into a CVA with creditors. All debts were paid.
  3. When I went to renew my season ticket, the system wouldn’t allow me to do so online. I phoned the club shop and it was sorted over the phone no problem. However, I’ve never had any contact with Total Tickets (that I can remember). Never registered with them I don’t think, and I’ve not had an email from them tonight. Any ideas on how I’m meant to purchase a ticket for this Edinburgh City game?
  4. Not disputing that it’s poor IF someone has been stealing from the club but if anyone has information on this they should contact the club directly rather than start accusing people of theft on an Internet forum.
  5. You’re getting a wee bit personal now with the my “Higher Accounting textbook” dig. No need for that is there? I thought we were having a fairly reasonable discussion? We disagree on whether there are other people interested in investing in Ayr United. I think there are, you think there aren’t. So be it, we’re all entitled to our opinions. I’m also well aware that Ayr United could have a worse owner than Lachlan Cameron.
  6. Firstly I didn’t say we WERE losing fortunes, I said IF we were losing fortunes. Either way, IF we are, as the decision maker that’s as a result of decisions Lachlan has made. There is an alternative to cutting costs. You can increase revenue streams. No disrespect intended but parties interested in owning Ayr United are unlikely to feel the need to notify ordinary fans like you or me of their interest in doing so. That’s not to say they’re not out there. Lachlan has said he would only sell to the right person/people. He has also indicated he has been approached over the years. We are not privy to what was offered or what has been asked for so it’s hard to say if any of those people were realistic options or if Lachlan is asking for a realistic price for the club. We (or certainly I) don’t know. Clubs don’t need to have a majority owner. Lachlan’s shareholding could be split amongst potential investors. He could even maintain a smaller shareholding. There are numerous options that could be looked at. Are we really saying Ayr United are the only football club in the country nobody but Lachlan wants to run or has the financial capability to run?
  7. In my post you quoted I said he has to take responsibility for the negatives and the positives. Not purely be given credit for the good and absolved of responsibility for the bad decisions. We could be here all day discussing crowd figures. Again, are those running the club absolved of any responsibility for the crowd figures?
  8. Because I don’t see Lachlan as the saviour of Ayr United doesn’t mean I’m delusional. Obviously the club has not been flush with cash during the majority of his tenure. My issue is the one-sided view of things. Lachlan has the controlling interest in Ayr United. He is therefore responsible for the negatives as well as the positives. If the club is losing fortunes then ultimately it’s as a result of his decisions. Do you really think Lachlan Cameron is the only person capable of keeping Ayr United afloat? If he wasn’t in charge our finances would be the responsibility of our new directors/owners. Like directors/owners at every other football club in the country they’d be judged on their success or failure.
  9. I get what you’re saying but I think it’s stretching the recognised meaning of saving a football club by simply refusing to sell your majority shareholding, for a pittance, to the first (or second) fantasist that comes along.
  10. Who or what did Lachlan save the club from, himself? At the time the Cameron family took on majority ownership from Bill Barr we were told the club had no debt. Check back on the papers at the time if you want evidence of that. So who was responsible for where we found ourselves not long after? My own guess is the Cameron family bought the club for a token sum from Barr. Now if that’s correct , you’d need to be a very trusting person not to ask yourself why someone would sell you their majority share in a football club for a token sum if there were no strings attached. Presuming due diligence was undertaken, it’s logical therefore to think the Cameron family took over ownership with a fair idea of where the club sat financially. The club has never been in administration or admitted to being close to deaths door. If either situation had arisen who’s to say a fans consortium wouldn’t have save saved the club? Who’s to say other interested parties would not have emerged? We’ll never know as the situation never materialised but it’s complete rubbish to say Lachlan saved the club, unless you mean from his own mismanagement?
  11. After promotion, the club failed to back the manager with the money to improve the team. Our two star strikers still managed to finish the season on something like15 & 17 goals. Not bad for players playing at a team who in terms of league position were on par with the team down the bottom of our current league.
  12. I don’t think many are arguing Ayr weren’t at their best and Queen of the South can think themselves unlucky not to take something from our last match at Somerset. Enough chances to win at least 2 matches though??? Come on, that was hardly the case. I’ve just rewatched the highlights and had a look at the BBC stats. According to them you had three shots on target to Ayr’s four.
  13. I really hope that you are in no way involved at Ayr United? Any business that holds views like that about their paying customers is far more idiotic than a fan turning up ticketless, near kick off time, for any number of reasons unknown to you, me or the club.
