I downloaded a Ninja suit which maxes out all your stats, with some Wii points I forgot I had (only 350 it cost).

I'm only really gonnae use that for online play, and purely so I'll be able to compete with driving distances of other players. I'll still be playing with my normal character for the career mode.

That said, I gave the suit a trial run at Wentworth, and shot 81. It's a real swine of a course in this version, whereas I used to shoot good scores there on the 360.

I've noticed the game to be a bit buggy too. I set up a solo strokeplay game with all the course settings at their easiest level, to give me a bit of practice, yet the pin positions were incredibly difficult, and on a Par 5 which should have been 360 yards from the white tees, I was faced with 500 odd yards from the tee.

It's also annoying that on online play, you can only play single round games against others on the simultaneous mode. There's no other modes, so you can't take someone on in a matchplay game, for example.

Apart from this though, I'm loving it. I'm starting to get more used to the precision putting now, but I still can't stop fading my drives, even though I've tuned the clubs to compensate for this.

Had a go at one of the online daily tournaments earlier. Failed miserably, of course, but the leader at the time had shot a round of 44 on a par 72 course.

28 under par for one round.

Given the game is just out, and there's no power button in this one to allow you to drive every green, I have no idea how this is possible. My 'ninja' character has all stats maxed out, and the furthest I can hit a drive is around 340 yards.

Has the tournament mode in the career section been fixed? In Tiger Woods 09 it's pretty frustrating as the performance of everyone else seems to relate to how you do. For example, in a tournament today I shot a sub 60 first round score. For the next three days just about everyone else shot sub 60 scores and I finished miles behind. But in another tournament I was a couple over par after one and a half rounds and everyone almost seemed to tread water waiting on me catching up over the next day and a half.

Makes it frustrating - I'm seriously tempted to be deliberately shite for the first couple of rounds as I know I can catch folk over the weekend.

I can't say I ever noticed this in the 360 version, but on the Wii, I played a 2-round tournament at Wentworth the other day, and most of the field shot respectable rounds in the first round, as did I. I had a nightmare 2nd round, and not one other player finished under par.

Of course, it could just have reflected how much harder the conditions were on the 2nd day.

The conditions never seem to change on mine - I don't think I've ever had rain at a tournament in career mode. A bit of low cloud and mist is the worst it's been.

I meant more the pin positions, and speed of the greens, fairways, etc.

Have you noticed how poor the backspin controls are in this year's game? Even with max spin control, and shoogling the wiimote so the ball is spinning like mad on the screen, I still find the ball shoots forward on the green, even with lofted clubs.

Is that something that's controlled by the Motion Plus? I don't have a particularly long follow through (fnar), but I didn't think that would make much difference if there's a separate spin control.

What does the Wii Motionplus actually do compared to the normal controller? Just wondering as I have never played one before and I am planning getting a Wii sometime soon with the new Tiger Woods aswell as the tennis and darts games.
Hello down there!

On reflection, I'm now a bit disappointed with GST- it's too easy once you get used to it vs the CPU- I'm scudding everyone on hard level now. Think the only thing I could do now is create a scratch player and not accept any of the "upgrades" you get for beating a legend.

I might get round to playing online but I don't actually enjoy playing against folk I don't know.

I'll see about getting TW10 later in the year, one folk have had a bit more time to judge it. I've got the Xbox360 demo and it looks great but I'd much rather play it on the Wii.
Even men with steel hearts love to see a dog on the pitch.

It's closer to a 1:1 gameplay experience than the normal controller, whatever you do with the wii-mote is accurately reflected on screen. You also have better control of draw and fade. If your swing isn't perfectly straight, it'll reflect that on screen.
