Surprised this hasnt been mentioned on here before, as it was announced a while ago. I was reading through a review of Tiger Woods 09 which mentioned how much better these sorts of games will be once the Wii MotionPlus comes out.

not much information here

What do the P&B massess think? Will this make a big difference to the Wii and bring the 1:1 motion it claims? Will Ric instantly dismiss it?

Instantly? He dismissed it back in the 80s, back when Bluetooth controllers were presumably all the rage!

Out this Friday, along with Virtua Tennis and EA's tennis game that I cant remember the name of.

Promising reviews of both and with Tiger Woods 10 out shortly after, exciting times :thumsup2

Especially, now I've discovered the joys of Homebrew ;)

I guess if motion controllers are your thing then improving the motion detection can only be a good thing. It's still not going to convince me that the Wii is anything more than the Gamecube 2 and a complete fad of a console though. :P

Edit: Waaaait a minute... What's this doing in the E-Chat forum?! Shame on you Mr X... ;)

I've been keen to get in on this act for a while. Is it true you need the Zelda game or something to be able to access it.

A Homebrew-for-dummies guide to getting this on here would be quite helpful.

I saw you'd replied and hoped for a minute you might have something positive to say. Imagine my dissapointment.

Complete fad = best selling console

Check the date of the original post, Div must have missed it

You can use the Zelda game if you dont have the latest firmware (the one with the little SD card icon at the bottom) If you do, you need to use another method.

I thought of putting the guide up on here, but didnt for 3 reasons 1) I dont want to be responsible for people who dont know what their doing breaking their Wii's, 2) The really useful stuff I cant post on here anyway ;) and 3) I've only just done it myself so I couldnt answer any questions!

I'll PM you some sites that might of interest, if you like ;)

OK perhaps the console isn't the fad - it's certainly been the launch pad which has helped this motion detecting controller faddery.

I did say something postive though...

Oooo .. so close.

I'll put money on this faddery being around for some time to come.

Am i quoting Nintendo wrong or did they confirm that with the motion plus the limitations of the wii have been found. What now for the Wii? Apart from Wii Vitality, which will sell 4 million.

Im not sure if that is what they said, but even if it is, the motionplus is launching on Friday. We've seen 2 and a half years of Wii dominance in its original form. Theres no reason to think that the motionplus wont extend its life by about the same again.

I know you are trying to be ironic, but this is actually the case.

No one has had hardly any fun with a wii in at least a year, the games on the shelves for the wii are woefully thin on the entertainment factor, Kings Story is the only game this year to score 9 or above on the wii that you can buy in disk form.

Nintendo have woefully undersupported gamers with the wii.

You do have a point to an extent, although The Gray Ghost blames lazy developers rather than Nintendo. That said, my Wii is still played on a regular basis, we're currently working our way through Lego Batman, and the plan was to buy Shaun Whites soon. Im still also playing Bass fishing and loving it, but you are right, the new releases haven't been that inspiring.

I never actually heard much about the motion plus, but have been reading up on it and it looks really good! I think Im going to buy it as soon as its released, and maybe get one of the tennis games too. Quite excited about it! :D

Nintendo are a developer as well, the primary one for wii, and are releasing rubbish like wii music.

I suppose the developers with merit have still to get used to the tools to make good games, but in fairness, i cant see what the motion pluss will add to the experience of the wii.

On another note, anyone heard that Project Natal is racist?

You dont think 1:1 replication of your movements will add anything to the games?

Well drunken parties when wii sports gets whipped out, 1:1 motion isnt going to improve how good i can swing a bat. So does this improve how curved your curve ball will curve?

Do you know if the motionplus is compatible with boom blox 2? It was one of my biggest gripes with the first game that it just needed a bit more control for some of the trickier parts of the game, it would really add something great if it does work.

No, because its not backwards compatible ;)

I can see it having more of an impact on the more "serious" games. Wii Sports 2 will showcase it, but it will be other games that really show the benefits of it.

No, its not. The first motionplus compatible games are the two tennis ones out on Friday, along with the motionplus.

Do you think it would be better to buy the motion plus thing seperate or just buy the games with motion plus included ?

It's £26.99 for EA sports tennis grand slam on it's own and £17.99 for the motion plus thing or you can buy sports tennis grand slam with motion plus for £44.99.

Well the motion plus is pretty useless without a game to play it

If you want the game and its cheaper to buy the two together then do that. If its cheaper to buy them seperately, do that instead
