Following a post by Redcar in the Berwick vs Forfar thread, what has happened to Ducketblog, it hasn't been updated for 4 months now! almost as bad as the official site used to be!

We'll see about Mclean. He has a big heart and did OK yesterday, but I just don't think he's naturally good enough. His passing isn't great, he loses out on too many headers and he is a bit too slow. I'm disappointed that we conceded 2 to a very ordinary Forfar side, though I take your point though that it doesn't help to have a go at him when he's had a half decent game!

Maybe he needs the confidence of a decent run in the side. I'll be glad to admit I'm wrong if he's still here at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, whatever happened to the Ducketblog?

I gave it up after the chairman of our football club said I was not welcome at Shielfield Park to a fellow Supporters Trust member....probably cutting off my nose to spite my face but hey ho.

I remember at the time thinking I can't be bothered with the hassle. I might start it up again though..

You really should keep it up just for an alternative voice to club propaganda. Only at Berwick could a loyal supporter be told he's not welcome, unbelievable

Yeah I might well start it up again, but if I do start it again I'd want to make sure I could keep it going. I used to try to update it every day.

I remember when I went to Darlington for college, the Darlo chairman was George Reynolds and he used to ban fans from games who wrote anything critisising the club in forums. Pathetic like! <_<

Nice. What a unique way of praising a loyal supporter. The short term memories of certain members of the BOD is quite scary.

Of course THEY were NEVER critical of previous regimes.

All the more reason to get it going again. Nothing wrong with freedom of speech or having your opinion about things as it's been already pointed out on here.

As a long distance berwick supporter I hope the ducketblog can feel able to pick up again some time soon. To build something up like that over time is a terrific achievement and adds untold value to a club's standing in the www ..... certainly in berwick's case a lively ducketblog would once again make up for the less than steller official site.

Do Chairmen appreciate stuff like that..... do they heck as like.

After just about everyone at my local club had come to the realisation that our then manager's ten plus years in charge had 'more than run its course' The Chair called me a b**tard and slammed the phone down...... thankfully both he and said manager are long gone.......... the fans always remain to pick up the pieces.....but while things are going off attempts are often made to make us feel that it's our fault.

They shouldn't be allowed to grind yer down.

That's just awful MP. Berwick R must have a lot of supporters for their Chairman to 'ban' fans on the basis of a contrary opinion. Blimey, not many lower division clubs would have any customers if Mr Wilson's policy was common practice.

I personally think all our clubs take internet message boards/sites/blogs all the wrong way and instead of harnessing the interest and comment, they just react with indignation, which in itself causes further negativity.
The answer is yes, so, what is the question?

Get it back going MP it just proves how insecure Mr Bob is, Is he trying to run the club like a communist dictator where he is the tyrant, the mr you call me i lead you out at half time and shot you on the penalty spot!!! Just when you thought "Carry on Berwick Rangers" couldnt get any worse this comes out!!! just makes you wonder if he has assigned chemical Fishy to launch nerve gas attacks on the Ducket Kurds!!!

Keep it going mate im sure if he did ban you it would have severe effect on the already rocky relationship between the Bod and the fans. Why dont we go for Independance or plan a coup!!!! :D :D

It's not a policy. Its just the way he goes on. He isnt a peoples person and just goes around shooting his mouth off without thinking, or caring. He won't take advice off anyone he's had a 'run in' with in the past, and would no doubt just say something like "He's a c**t anyway" if someone he didnt get on with came up with a good idea. People who do good things for the club, for free, are generally treated as employees or people who can be expoited.

He's done some good things at the club, but he certainly isnt a peoples person and I find it amazing he's been voted onto the SFL Management Committee.

Chairman Bob has a long way to go to measure up to George Reynolds.

George is currently enjoying a large helping of her Majesty's porridge after fiddling the taxman out of half a million quid, and driving round town with a boot full of used fivers. He was also a bare knuckle prize-fighter and was previously jailed for safe cracking, after hiding the gelignite in an ice-cream van. Also, when he heard a fan criticising him, he didn't just bar him out, he found out where he lived and "paid him a visit" at 20 past 2 in the morning.

You know what, that's a bit over the top isn't it, and to be honest, there wasn't anything on your site that was that controversial (spelling??), and if there is something on there that has upset members of the BoD, well tough, 'Blog's' and fansites are all about personal opinion aren't they? I thought the Ducketblog done a good job in linking other BRFC content elsewhere on the net, there has never been anything on there that has made me think 'that is near the mark'

I'm glad Redcar made the comment now in the other thread asking about what happened to this site, it does appear that it has been missed by the fans.

Like a few others on here, being a long distant follower of BRFC, the more info and opinions of the club out there, the better because the official site isn't that great (even though it is about 10 times better now than it was say 3 months ago)

It is a shame that Berwickforums is no more though!

well judging by Dumbarton fc's board of directors' recent postings on the official dfc website i'd say that it's only a matter of time before some loyal fans of dumbarton are told theyre not welcome
We will never forget you, Guido.
