Good thread.

Gala Fairydean - Social Club, Sky TV, best pub (10-15 mins away) The Salmon Inn, in the town centre, near Tesco, good food, Sky TV
Kelso - No Social Club, The Black Bull 5 mins away in the Town centre, food, Sky TV
Peebles - No Social Club, The Green Tree 2 mins away, opposite the main bus stop, Food, Sky TV (although volume is never on)
Civil Service Strollers - Social Club ,basic food, Sky TV. The pub nearest, looks a awful.
Whitehill - Couple of decent pubs along the main street. Social club last time I went only did can's, no draught beer.

Should try and get this thread pinned, as its important to us footie fans :cheers :bounce1

For Edinburgh City:The Golden Gates is across from the Sports Centre at Meadowbank, while there are two pubs in Marionville Road at the back of the Stadium. We also have the Edinburgh City Club at the top of Leith Walk for after match entertainment.
Civil Service Strollers have a fine social club at Muirhouse (and you'd be taking your life in your hands going anywhere else in that area!). As well as pints they do a rather fine plate of stovies. Whitehill Welfare also have a nice social club at their ground. Gala Fairydean also have a nice social club under the Netherdale Stand with some football shirts on the wall. Dalbeattie have a club at the back of their stand- City always get a warm welcome there. There are pubs in Coldstream's High Street near Home Park although Coldy have a small committee room/bar in the ground. Selkirk similarly have a committee room/bar. As mentioned previously, Hawick RA have a bar at the back of the stand otherwise it's a walk to the Mansfield Arms, which, being in Hawick, is an egg chasing establishment although a nice wee pub.
There aren't many pubs near Edinburgh University's place- either ones in Craigmillar Road (probably best avoided) or go into the Uni's Sports Centre where there is a bar up the stairs. At Easthouses a pint can be had in the Miners' Welfare which looks a bit rough on the outside but is ok inside.
Spartans' City Park was a bit of a desert for drinking establishments but the new place may have facilities. There aren't many pubs too close to Craigroyston's place either nor Tynecastle although they are erecting a new building at Fernieside at the moment. At Preston you can sneak into the RBL next to the ground after match but it's well worth trying the nearby refurbished Prestonpans Goth for a fine pint.
Bon Voyage and Slainte!

Ainslie Park will be a similar pub desert Tam but doesn't everyone have their driver drop them off at the ground?

Unfortunately when City aren't playing well they can't sell all the seats on the supporters' tandem so sometimes I have to drive!
I was looking forward to WJR buying me a pint in the Ainslie Park committee room... alas!

Whitehill do have draft beer. Bottled cider though. As for a couple of decent pubs. There is 1 in the village and :o

And they also do hot food for midweek games now, for the ones of here who think food is important

In the Premier League, Whitehill have had draught beer in their social club this pre-season. One of the best grounds to visit if you want a drink at the game as the pitch is only 10 yards from the Social club. Their "pie stall" was also excellent pre-season with more variety than usual (hotdogs, soup, as well as the usual pies, tea, bovril, crisps, juice and sweets - good for the bairns if you take them along! very reasonable prices too.) No Sky Tv though.

Equally as good is Gala in the First Division - great wee club with sky TV and draught beer. Vale of Leithen also have a social facility but it's about 300 yards from the ground.

As something of an Annan pub aficionado I was delighted to read this thread!

The Blue Bell is the closest as Ray-Dale says. Not a bad wee pub, especially if you like real ale or a pint of Deuchar's. Although quite small and quiet, this is a real pub. If you know what I mean.

Just off the high street, and about a 2 minute walk from the Blue Bell is the Shed. This is a good pub for football fans. It has about 15 TVs that show any game going and the beer is cheap as hell.

Another couple of pubs on the high street are The Auberge and the Commercial. Not much to say about either of those though to be honest.

If you're arriving/departing by train definitely be sure to visit The Station Bar (rather unsurprisingly at the train station) which is an excellent little pub and in my opinion the best in Annan (I am biased though as I used to work there!). It's about a 5 minute walk from the high street.

The other pubs are either too far away from the footie to mention or not really worth mentioning.

Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.

I can't speak of which pubs are near which grounds but I have always looked for a church. Rather odd but wherever I have found the local praying shop I have found a decent watering hole. :D

I am basing it on a pre season friendly against Berwick a few seasons ago. I stand corrected.
