COLDSTREAM 2 KELSO 3
I ATTENDED TONIGHTS GAME HOPING TO WATCH COLDSTREAM,S STRONGEST SIDE AGAINST KELSO AND THE FIRST HALF HOUR I WASN,T DISAPPOINTED AS PETER FIELDED A STRONG STARTING LINE UP WHICH TOTALLY OUTPLAYED WHAT LOOKED A VERY POOR KELSO SIDE,KELSO LACKED ANY CREATIVE SPARK IN MIDFIELD AS THEY SEEMED CONTENT TO TRY KICK THE COLDSTREAM MIDFIELDERS INSTEAD OF THE BALL ESPECIALLY THERE NUMBER 6 WHO CONTINUALLY GAVE THE BALL AWAY MUCH TO HIS TEAM MATES DESPAIR AND LOOKED OUT HIS DEPTH.SO ON THE HALF HOUR MARK THE GAME BECAME A FARCE WITH PETER MAKING SEVEN CHANGES AND WITH THIS TREND CONTINUING THROUGHOUT THE GAME NO FLUENCY OR PATTERN OF PLAY WAS POSSIBLE,THE IMPRESSIVE DOUG BRYDON FOR EXAMPLE WOULD HAVE BEEN LUCKY TO PLAY 45 MINUTES ALL GAME AS WAS THE CASE WITH JASON INGLIS.I UNDERSTAND THAT IS WHAT THESE GAMES ARE FOR BUT SURELY KEEPING HIS STRONGEST SIDE FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR AND SCORING A FEW GOALS WHICH I HAVE NO DOUBT THEY WOULD HAVE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR THE BOYS CONFIDENCE.AS FOR KELSO YOU COULDN,T FAULT THERE EFFORT AND COMMITMENT BUT THE SEVERE LACK OF QUALITY WAS EVIDENT ALL MATCH ESPECIALLY IN THE MIDFIELD AREA.ALL SAID AND DONE I,D SAY A GOOD WORKOUT FOR KELSO AND A WASTE OF TIME FOR MOST OF PETERS PLAYERS WHO CONSTANTLY FOUND THEMSELVES WATCHING ON IN THE POURING RAIN.

What a nasty, vindictive little gob-shite you are. Is it coincidence that the only lad you name in the Kelso team was the only Coldstream based player playing. Jealous or just a rat?

I canny see the name of a kelso player their , but I have to say imho the coldstream based player who plays for Kelso did ok and was probably one of the better players in their team

The ammount of subs coldstream had and used certainly didnt help and they were on top when they changed things round but Kelso were never out of the game and had their chances they showed great determination and looked like the team that wanted to win the game .

Coldstream changed it and put players back on for the last 15 and looked like they were going to win it and had chances to do so but all credit to Kelso they fought to the end and probably got the winning goal they deserved for their fighting performance

No josh signed for dunbar.neither jealous or a rat pal just thought the lad struggled a bit against better players and constantly left his foot in when tackling, the number 4 and 9 for kelso did ok as well and i don't name any kelso player, mainly cause i don't know there names!

Took in some of the game last night, Coldstream started brightly, but I felt Kelso squeezed the game so much Coldstream were not allowed to play their passing game. Pete was on a hiding to nothing trying to accomodate 19 players, but I was impressed with both teams commitment, and there were a lot of decent players on both sides, which cant be bad for the new season.

The score at half-time was 1-0 to Coldstream. Scorers for Coldstream were M.Bolton and J.Brydon. Kelso scorers were A.Jackson (2) and P.Young.

Fair reflection as always Mike....good to see you standing in the rain again for a good match indeed......maybe having 19 there did disjoint the streamers game but fairplay to Peter for getting the players in......Kelso are a hardworking team who never gave up...i was impressed by the number 9 who never gave up all game and created when he got the ball......hopefully we can push on from there and get the results that matter....

I found the balance to the coldstream team abit upside down,in the sence that the team seems to be full of midfielders, midfielders playing at the back, midfielders playing up top and no real left footer in midfield with brown leaving.

yeah i have heard that peter has midfielders coming out his ears he has so many there!! the rumours that i have heard is that peter is wanting to sign gareth henderson to fill the problem left hand side of midfield slot and balance the team but the last i heard was that he was waiting on a knee operation on an injury that he recieved last season, ive not seen or heard his name being mentioned during pre season at all, can anyone shed some light on the subject??

Gareth has had his operation. He hasnt started pre season training yet so i doubt he'll be signing for Coldstream. Last i heard he was staying with Kelso Thistle.

i watched gareth last season for our second team and while him and two others stood out i question there ambition to push into our first team namely there "player" manager brian stuart and his mate "wolfie" tait, from what i hear gareth will be signing back up to coldstreams second team as soon as he,s fit.as much as i rate gareth as a player i,m not sure he could cut it at the premier level as much as him and his two mates think they could!
