He held up for extra money as well because he had to fight an opponent he was unprepared for. I reckon Elite XC lost a power of money on that show, some of the fees they were paying to fighters was ridiculous.

Excellent. Cant wait for Lesnar vs Cotoure in particular but since UFC 89 is this Saturday Ithink we should discuss that for now.

Hopefully Bisping will beat Chris Leben who is by far his toughest opponent yet at Middleweight. Should be an exciting fight.

I would fancy Vera to beat Jardine as well. Vera is a huge man for 205 and I think he will just overwhelm Jardine who is succeptible to barrages of attack (see the Alexander fight)/.

Kimbo couldn't do anything. He was facing a fighter that was far more experienced and dangerous than he is. The fact the EXC paid Petruzelli a KO bonus to try and keep it standing makes Kimbo look even more toothless.

He could have had months to prepare and it wouldn't have made any difference. Kimbo is all hype and this is shown by the fact that even an average Light-Heavyweight like Seth can beat him

Yeah it will be a great month of fights. Agree with all the results you state, except I think that Sean Sherk will beat Tyson Griffin in a complete borefest. Hope I am wrong though.

Leben will give Bisping a tough fact. If Bisping beats him then I can see him being next to get his ass kicked by Anderson Silva. UFC have talked about this before and they would consider putting this fight on in a stadium in England. If this happens then I will definately be going!!!

Got round to watching UFC 89 last night and have to admit its probably some of the poorest fights ive seen in UFC. I was expecting the Bisping fight to be a proper good brawl but he backed off too much for my liking, but still he won :D .

Silva V Cote this weekend easy win for Silva i think

It was a very Machida like performance. He needed to fight that way though, as he was not winning a brawl with Leben.

Yeh, some of the fights just didn't live up to what i expected.

Bisping vs. Leben
I was a bit dissapointed that Bisping didnt go on the attack a bit more, but cant complain when his gameplan worked perfectly. Although, I feel as if Leben won the last round, due to the takedown.

Jardine vs. Vera
Poor fight from both men. Vera has looked out of sorts since Sylvia beat him last year.

Sokoudjou vs. Cane
I didn't expect this one to last long, sokky just doesnt have the stamina to go with his fighting style.

Lytle vs. Taylor
By far the best fight of the night. Really annoyed me that Lytle won by UD, Taylor atleast won the last round for me.

Now that UFC89 is over, 90 this weekend.

Silva will win his fight, probably knock him out with a knee. I cant see anyone beating Silva soon, unless that is he fights a skinny Japanese fighter, as that seems his weakness!

Koshcheck stepping in to fight Alves looks like a promising fight!

That result annoyed me as well i thought Taylor won it, even Lytle seemed surprised by it.

The first two fights were excellent but both the main events were a big let down. Bisping wins again though and surely now he cant be overlooked for a title shot.

Not the best of shows but we will press on. UFC 90 on Saturday. I dont think anyone can see past Silva against Cote.

Bisping's next fight will probably be whoever the coach of Team USA for the Ultimate Fighter USA vs. UK. Its either going to be Dan Henderson or Rich Franklin last time I checked.

He needs a good few more fights before he comes up against Silva.

The Team USA vs UK sounds awesome though cant wait.

Does anyone think that Patrick Cote has a chance in fuck? I kinda want him to win but I know he will get crushed.

What other fights are on the card? The oly one I can think of is Koscheck vs Alves which should be decent.

Cote has virtually no chance. Of course he has very heavy hands so he could get a lucky punch, but I just don't see it.

Koscheck vs Alves is a fight I have high hopes for. Card looks good from top to bottom, even with what I am seeing as a one sided main event.

Koscheck is one of my favourite fighters, so I am looking forward to it... but Alves is a beast. I think a knockout is on for this fight for either fighter.

The card for tonight is a good one, looking forward to seeing Gray Maynard. I liked him in TUF5 and think he has a good career ahead of him in mma.

I just wish Sherk had knocked Griffin out, i hate him! He is the only person to have beaten Urijah Faber, my absolute favourite fighter to watch.

Main event was a let down yeh, but it couldnt be helped. Coté doesnt deserve another chance IMO... yes, he took Silva further than anyone in UFC has, but what did he actually do? nothing!

All he did was run away from Silva but i agree he shouldnt get a rematch

Im not sure. His strategy was negative but he is the only person in UFC history to take Silva beyond the second round. His strategy was boring to watch but at least it didn't get him knocked out. I think he maybe merits a rematch on a Fight Night card or something. Don't think they'd get much of a buy rate if they did it on PPV again.

Right well moving on I suppose. Cotoure vs Lesnar is on the horizon. I cannot wait. Randy has always been my favourite fighter and I hope he takes Brock down a peg.
