Selkirk now have a decent manager in Paul Brownlee although the same old story about not attracting players may leave them in the bottom half of the league.
Hawick, I believe, are in a bigger mess with only half a dozen players.
My money is on Selkirk to finish higher.

Think Hawick are going to struggle this year to find a team. They were looking at a couple from Berwick who've signed with others instead, lost a few to the local amateur teams and had a few leave before the end of last season. Heard their keeper is heading to the juniors for a few quid and they're probably signing a few boys from Edinburgh that played for them a few years back....

It wouldn't be a new season without the annual 'are Hawick going to be able to start the season' story, it happens every year. They'll be alright, although you can probably rule them out for promotion. Scott Dowie will be a big loss though, their goals against column in the league may well have been into triple figures without him.

Yes, there is a vegetarian option - f**k off.
He may look like an idiot, he may talk like an idiot, but don't be fooled by that - he really is an idiot.

I agree. From the game's I watched in the last couple of years he's been by far their best player. Surprised he stayed for as long. Would have thought bigger teams would have been tripping over each other for a keeper with his experience and ability.

I think maybe Brownlee and his team of coaches maybe just about to get it right and i quite fancy selkirk to do ok now that they are staying in the premier league. They look like they have a half decent squad if a tad young. Young players have no fear and i think they may just pull of a few surprises.

I saw Selkirk play at Edinburgh University in the league toward the end of last season. They looked a fair side with some promising youngsters and tried to play decent football. Ultimately the Uni side were a bit strong for them, but the impression I got from Selkirk was promise for the future. Of course it's always dependent on keeping decent youngsters which, as we all know, isn't always easy.
