WELFARE WAIT FOR TITLE
ANNAN Athletic manager Harry Cairney is looking to end the season on a high.
They take on East Premier League champions in waiting Whitehill Welfare in the final game of the season at Galabank.
Welfare only need to prevent Annan scoring eight goals to win the East of Scotland Premier League title today (SAT).
Cairney is under no illusions about the task ahead of him and said: "We would like to go out with a win but the league table tells the truth. They are the most consistant team in the league and it would be great to get one over our rivals this afternoon."
Carr, who leaves Welfare after the game, said: "It's a big match for me and for the club. I've only been here a couple of seasons and Welfare haven't won the title for at least five years."
He added: "We've had to wait more than a month for this game to finish our season and it would be great to go out with a win and the championships."
Welfare have several players suspended and on holiday but Carr says: "I think the lads that are here will be up for this one.
"I would like to think I've steered the club in the right direction since I came here and I hope the new boss can keep the players together."

Raymie has done well this year, it's the manager and his players who win leagues not committee's.
He wins the Premier league with a small squad and the so called committee still ain't happy.. what's all that about??? the club secretary up there should jump in his car and head to Hearts ..

We have enough problems at Hearts, without the Whitehill Secretary adding to it thanks very much
