That is one tough pre season opener.

Surely Morton should have been one of their final pre season games gearing up for the new season.

They certainly know how to boost the teams morale. :(

Valid point but even still thats one hell of a pasting to take for your first run out.

The result puts a shudder down my spine from the fact Annan had a similar pre season programme last year with a very similar result to threaves and had a fucking nightmare till Xmas. :(

On a positive note though, since January its been fucking magic. :D

Wonder how they will take it when the Queen's legends pump them! :P

It is the normal Annan and not a legends side Friday?

Hopefully they'll take it well, you know what these old heads are like when the legs have gone they tend to leave the old boot in. Believe its an Annan Legends side managed by Billy Sim. So at least your gauranteed a good sesh afterwards.

Annan also play Queens at home on Saturday. The game against Rangers that was scheduled for Saturday the 26th July is now being played on Sunday 27th July with a 2 o'clock K.O. This was switched because we're now away to Clyde in the challenge cup on the Saturday.

Thought it might be a good idea to create a thread detailing when all the friendly fixtures are taking place before the start of the season with everyone adding to it when they hear a game confirmed!

This is what happens when you have no football to keep yourself occupied with! You find yourself counting down the days until "kickabouts" start taking place :)

Here are a few for starters:

Threave Rovers v Morton, Wednesday, July 9.
Queen's Park v Threave Rovers, Saturday, July 12.
Threave Rovers v Kilmarnock, Saturday, July 23.

Morton Thistle are playing Heston tonight at Glencaple, Annan at Galabank next tuesday and St Cuthberts at Kirkkudbright the following week! B)

Morton Thistle lost 2-0 tonight to Heston who are no more than an average amateur league team! Heston had 34 boys turn up and they were making 5/6 subs at a time, most of whom made the "step-up" from playing in the amateur league or youth team last year!

Only their striker and GK stood out for me, Cocky i think the striker was called, and the GK made a great save when it was 1-0! We had 2 stone wall penalty's turned down for handball.

Big Walker was down watching but don't know if he's planning on signing for them or what?

The pitch was like a field too.........and that was after it had been cut! :o

Any other scores?

Good signing! Who else are Lochar planning on signing? Morton have lost a few players to Kello Rovers but Gracie's brought in a few good players, there's still a debate about formation's and what is the strongest team with the better players not suited to certain formations! Do you change the formation to suit the players or change the players to suit the formation? Hopefully we can win a cup at least, and advance in the West of Scotland for once!
