For discussion I thought, "What if Spartans do enter the league?" Would the Premiership stay a team short or would the two relegated sides play-off to stay up or...........?

The league has played with 11 clubs before, for example when Threave Rovers left, the Premier had 11 teams. One issue may be whether the situation is resolved soon, or well into the summer.

As another example, Stirling University have apparently applied to join the league, while Berwick Reserves have left. But if another team applied (I haven't a clue if anyone will, mind) it would be pretty stupid to have a Premier of 11, and a First of 13. So it'll just depend on circumstacnes IMO.

Mmmm, thought about that myself. We wouldn't want anyone to have to reprint it, would we?

Not really necessary given the original scenario. In the event of a club leaving, then their name in the list would simply change to 'bye'. I.e. from 12 clubs to 11, one of them has to sit out each week anyway. If Gala got into the SFL, and that meant a reduction in the First division from 11 clubs to 10 (Berwick resign, Stirling don't get, in for sake of argument) then it could be reissued.

They have enough bother working out fixtures with an even number of teams. Heaven help us.
