I am sure UEFA, thanks to Celtic fans being impecabbly behaved in 2003, won't punish all Scottish clubs if punishment is the route they are going to go down.

Yes, it'll all be thanks to Celtic, and in no way thanks to the reputation of Scotland fans in general.
"Well I've had enough of morons and half-wits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells, and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you've had enough of me?"

I am not saying that. We should be expecting fans to go anywhere and behave - doing so is nothing out of the ordinary. The impression we made in 2003 in the same final with a similar amount of fans there however will surely remain in the minds of UEFA and come into play if punishment is being dished out. Well at least we should all hope so.

"Similar"?

They seem to have put the estimates at 200,000 now. Somewhat more than Celtic took, which is unsurprising given that they didnt have to go abroad and it was just a couple hours down the road.

It will certainly be a factor, that much I agree. As will the awards that Scotland fans have won and the impression that they continue to leave when travelling in large numbers around Europe.

What happened last night was not about the Old Firm, it was not about Scottish fans and Scottish football in general - it was about Rangers. They buck the trend where clubs from this country are concerned.

Yes, I know it's about the huns and only them. I was making my response in mind of others suggesting that the whole of Scotland may suffer due to their inability to behave.

Thankfully after the response to Hysel, the authorities seem to have moved from tarring all clubs under a nation with the behaviour of one set of supporters.

It appears to be the news! Just to clarify, Im not saying Celtic fans were trouble or anything like that, but with the final in Seville, it wasnt quite as easy to get to. It appears that every Rangers fan and his dog went to Manchester last night. Therefore I think their knuckledragger quotient was far, far higher than it would otherwise have been.

It'll be interesting to hear what Rangers official response to this is.

I think with 80-100,000 Celtic fans in Seville, we can still make valid comparisons.

From Follow Follow (post was apparently removed by a moderator)

Just back from the game and I am afraid to say a portion of our travelling
support have let us and the club down badly.

We had to cut through Piccadilly Gardens to get to the car, only to be
warned off by a few lads saying "Dont take him (Doc Jr) down there, its
kicked off, they are throwing bottles at our own, just terrible". Now the
lad was in tears, but I thought just a bit worse for drink and was being a
bit OTT with what was happening. Just to be safe we walked over a street
and cut down that way instead,

What happened next will live with me forever. I wont go into details, but I
am afraid when I have to cover my son with my body to stop bottles and
glasses from hitting him that were being thrown by our own so called
support is the day I think I call it a day. Thanks to the two bears that
helped me cover my son, and also helped us run to safety when there was a
lull. Other folk were not so lucky.

Forget the game, in fact we can probably forget Europe for a while because
we probably wont be allowed back into it for a a few years.

I am sitting here f*cking ashamed."

From doctors.net

My better half working at NMGH tonight. apparently someone has been raped
outside the hospital, the MRI is full, diverting ambulances and NMGH is
starting to receive trauma. I'm on annual leave - don't know whether to
volunteer or not. I've not sutured in 3 years, no A&E but I'm PACES
positive and could be a surgical HO."

"At times like this I really don't envy my friends who live in the city
centre. Or my other friend who is the landlord of Knott bar on Denesgate.

I changed my mind and didn't go in earlier as I heard that a lass walking
through Piccadilly Gardens got hassled as she didn't want to dance with 15
Scots, and another one got a free beer shower.

Is it worth the reported £20 million to the city? At the moment I think
not."

also reports of paramedics and nursing staff being attacked in Manchester
hospital Casualty departments
"ST MIRREN have adopted a new image. The Paisley side resemble the kid at school who returned from the summer holidays with a new school bag and a sun tan that refused to subside."

it's a very valid comparison and is the final nail in the Hun coffin.....it's about time the clubs said they just don't want their fans travelling and banned them.

there has to be a time when they are finally treated like the mass pariah they are.

Have some guts scottish football chairman and make it clear they are not welcome in any way shape or form, is there dirty money worth it?

By clubs I assume you just mean the huns?

Regardless, how do you propose a football club stops their supporters from travelling abroad?

Yes, if you had been in charge of Rangers, what would you have done to stop Rangers fans travelling down to Manchester?

I think only a lengthy European ban can do this.

We have seen that the threat of losing league points has cut down on the sectarian singing.

Perhaps the knowledge that these midweek trips to Europe won't be happening for 5 years will be enough of an incentive for the scum to be weeded out and the behaviour toned down.

I suspect not however, because the behaviour of the Rangers fanbase is ingrained into the whole fabric of the hateful organisation they follow follow.

I mean all SPL clubs should refuse to give rangers fans tickets for their grounds....why should any normal human being have to put up with that type of travelling support or even the threat of that travelling syupport....it's now time to just say we don't want them any more.

Im so glad that my posts make such an impact on you! :D You'll also see in the same post where I realised that if any trouble did kick off, then I would instead use my car key rather than the nail file on my keyring. But then again, that wouldnt suit your agenda.

You give people a chance to act like rational human beings and punish them when they veer from respectable behaviour....now is the time...they have had many chances...no more.....

you are an out and out liar...there are many people who can confirm that you admitted to carrying blade in your hand ready as you felt unsafe whilst walking home after the pub.

right so you openly admit to being prepared to using a weapon to stab someone...there is no confirmation the russian got stabbed with a knife and the wee guy who was killed in england was stabbed with a shard of glass.

You are a fucking idiot...plain and simple.

Yawn, all you seem to do on this site is follow me around and post abuse. Yawn. When have I ever given you any personal abuse? What would you do if you were attacked randomly on the street? Curl up into a ball and hope for the best?
