Game on wednesday is a big one with the winners most likely to get to the final .

Dont no about our chances as we are so inconsistent but at times this season weve been really good and thats usually against the teams that are haf decent e.g took more points off Stranraer and havent been beat by them all season than points weve took off Forfar , a win against East Fife and not one win against Dumbarton , Getting beat 1-0 at home to the shire and getting gubbed 4-1 and 5-2 by Albion Rovers . So we usually play good in the big games which could be good .

As for Cowdenbeath not so sure about them , no we played them earlier on this year in the Scottish Cup but the only difference was a penalty in 5 mins and we played 60 mins with 10 men and not even a full strength team, And Cowden have lost players since then most notably Pat Clark so that will give us a boost, also the injury problem at Cowden is pretty bad aswell while we have only got Stuart Ferguson missing long term which isnt really a big loss.

Since the last game we have brought in 2 very good youngsters from Dundee and Dunfermline , Deasley and McBride and signed two of this divisions best players in Lunan and Rattray.

For Wed my Arbroath team would be

Hill

Flyer
Rattray
Bishop
Tully
Black

Sellars
Lunan
Watson

Scott
Reilly

Hope wednesday will be a good game and enjoyable , hopefully get a crowd of over 1200 for the game , how many fans will Cowden bring 2 years ago Alloa brung about 200 to ours and we brung about 700 to theirs , hope its a good game and ill go for in my biasd view 2 - 0 to the Lichties :P , Scott and Watson , may the best team win.

Cheers for the vote of confidence on us next season 1320Lichtie on the 2nd Div forum. I'd take 4th place no problem !!

I'll repeat what I said on there. From what I've seen this season, I think Arbroath will take care of Cowden and also take care of the winners of the other game and join us in Div 2 next season but I would like to have 2 Fife derbies next season (even though we could end up with no other Fife rivals in the league at this rate :( )

That's rather an upbeat assessment of Arbroath's chances 1320. Of course it's only two games (then maybe another two) but we've done little in recent months to suggest we can put on a show at the end of the season.

Conventional wisdom suggests momentum of the team in form can carry them through the playoffs. The record of the four teams over the past 6 games points to Stranraer:

Stranraer 16 points
Montrose 9 points
Cowdenbeath 7 points
Arbroath 6 points

And we've only scored 6 times in the past 8 games suggetsing another issue and the failure to perform at home these past 2 seasons is a concern, especially trying to get an edge after the first leg.

Still. we're there and who knows what might change.
Supporting Arbroath = the best of all possible worlds. Gayfield Park = stairway to heaven. The team and fans = the worst in the league, apart from all the others. Everything is rosy in our garden

Good luck Arbroath. I would love you lot to come up so we have at least one decent train journey to an away game.

I think that Cowden are on a bit of a downer and going by our play-off against Stranraer last season, the team in the lower league (IMO) has the psychological advantage. Also, I hate CP it's a coup.

In my view, that's quite poor banter.

looking forward to the game wed. I am quietly confident. The players were up for it after speaking with them on sat night at the POTY dance.
Should have a good starting x1. However up front we will miss dempster (heard he was major struggling)
should be a decent cowden crowd considering its midweek. If it were a sat we would have taken loads of people.
Sat will be a good crowd also.Arbroath usually bring quite a few down.

mone the cowden.

I'm just hoping Cowden don't resort to bully boy tactics like in the past.

I just hope our fans keep their eyes peeled too in case they are attacked by Cowden players again.

Can't argue, the ground is dire, the 4 QP females must have been really desperate on Sat using the toilets :o

Hopefully we'll survive and Raith don't go up, but I'm not confident on either :(

Best odds at the moment on Cowden for the game on Wednesday is 7/4 with Betfred. Arbroath are 13/8 with William Hill and the draw 13/5 with Stan James. Bookies are making it tight, but no surprise in that.

Tell me Ladyfan are you the Announcer for East Fife who informed everbody in Bayview at the Arbroath game that it was a goal when Dougie Cameron missed from the penalty spot?

Who is kiddin who? If it is the usual Arbroath kicking match I think the best we can hope for is a draw.
However, if they try and play football !!!!!! should be good.

You've never been there - East Stirling only have a travelling support of 1 (and he is about 90yrs old)

Well that's 59 more than they had a couple of seasons ago. Mind you they are a much better team now and have more to sing about - humped Arbroath at Gayfield too! (and not many teams do that????)
You'll find out Wednesday if we have more than 60.
