Well, let me know which hirse you're backing in the National. I'll go with that one. haha.

I agree that if there isn't going to be enough light for the 90+ minutes of a game, and there are no floodlights, then the game shouldn't go ahead. There's no use having a 2 minute turn around.

'The Ghost' seems a little bit bitter. Lee True was your captain. Short memories eh?
He's a damn good player and a good lad too.

Our worst result of the season. I was embarassed at the way we played last night in all honesty. Wigtown have undoubtedly improved a little and deserved the point. Both teams had a lot of chances. If we are to finish in the top half of the league we need to win those type of games though. As last night proved local derbies can often be great levellers mind.

comon what a joke if you havent got lights game shouldnt be played at this time of year yes shaun rightly sent off and crichton better team first half but 10 men saints far better team second half not only should game have finished 90 mins for lack of light but safety reasons to but for aitken to play 5mins extra shows what a numpty he is even linesman said awfull and on that point why is lauries dad allowed to do line at at games where his son plays saints were never going to win title but last night was a disgrace from die hard saints fan comon threave or stranrear for title !!!

I've got to agree here that it is ridiculous that Davie Laurie can run the line at a game where his son plays for one of the teams, although having said that you can't accuse him of bias as he was flag happy and continually flagged both teams offside when they weren't!

I also thought the ref was shocking - what a difference to Stuart Clingan's performance as ref at the Crichton Annan game on Monday night. At half-time you could here Jim Thomson ask him if he wanted the players to stay on the pitch and turn straight round after a couple of minutes but he was quite happy to let Saints go to the dressing room although anyone could see how dark it was getting. Sending Sean Hutchison off for bringing Beattie down was one of the few things he got right on the night.

Result wise Crichton probably had more chances but Saints deserved a draw the way they played with 10 men especially in the second half.

Where's Daz going? Lee True has already been a Threave player. Personally, I'd take him back as I think he's a good player and has a good attitude.
I have no idea about Threave signings etc. I'm just a fan.

Do you think a draw between Crichton and Saints would've been a fair result??

Sean deserved to be sent off, but when Tommy Muirhead brought down the Abbey Vale boy on Saturday in the box when he was clean through it shows the difference in refereeing interpretation!

Difference being Hutchy was clearly last man , whereas Craig Wilson was behing Tommy when they went thru on goal.

And regarding game last night between Crichton - Saints... 1st half Crichton dominated and should have had ball in the net 2 maybe 3 times and it nearly cost us the match as Saints made couple tactical changes and imposed themselves on the game, and looked as if they wanted to win in spells more than Crichton did. Apart from a couple decent chances for saints, again we coulda had ball in back of net well before it started getting dark.... if you counted up the clear cut chances... the game prob shoulda finished about 6-3 Crichton.

And as for Davie Laurie being Linesman.... he was not biased in ANY way towards crichton.... every time we went up park in first half it seemed like we were offside... prob rightly so, but he is an official and if he doesn't do his job correctly then he wouldnt last long being an official!

As i see it only your keeper, the no3 (good solid looking player) and no9 (looked as if he was capable of causing damage up front, why was he substituted?) looked useful players on the night. Both teams had indeed chances but Wigtown made more clearcut chances to win the game and i think would have deserved the 3 points.Your worst result of the season??!!. I think thats unfair on Wigtown who as you have seen for yourself are showing improvement and i,m not in charge of a South team but i,d say a 3-3 draw is better than an 8-0 defeat.

The margin of our defeat to Saints away was embarassing but in the end of the day that was always going to be a hard game to get anything from. Wigtown are lowest placed team in the table to take points off us.

Aye fair enough mate, but both goalscoring opportunities denied which I thought was the rule rather than simply being last man.

Aye I didn't think Davie Laurie was biassed either, but makes you wonder why they put him in that position in the first place though. If anything controversial happens then it's the first conclusion people will jump to, even if it is unfounded.

Hyslop seems to think he is way above Wigtown now. Come back and run your mouth when you have won something, muppet.

If I were you I would be embarrased full stop, you are dross!!

Just as well big Mitty wasn't playing on Wednesday!

Last season the two teams were fairly closely matched - Wigtown finished just a few points above us and failed to win either of the head to heads. Despite these facts Wigtown made out they were far superior.

The gap in terms of positions and points is far wider this season - only this time we are the ones in front. I don't really think its unfair to say that it was a very bad result for us on Wednesday. I mean Wigtown are 3rd bottom (having played 4 more games than those in the bottom 2 positions) and have conceded more goals than any other team in the league. So considering we have won more games than we have lost to date and it was our home fixture I don't think its unreasonable to say we needed to be looking to win the game.

I admitted Wigtown played well on Wednesday and deserved at least a draw. I wasn't meaning to be disrespectful - we know exactly what its like to inherit a struggling team and given time I think Mickey Dougan will turn things around. Some of the younger players do look promising and there are early signs this is happening already. All that said though I still stand by my original comments - given the current status quo it was a game we had every right to expect to win and be very disappointed when we didn't manage to do that.

Can,t comment on Wigtown thinking they were superior last season i can,t remember even seeing any of their games.Seen both games between yourselves and them this year though and yes you deserved away win but i still think they deserved to edge win on wednesday evening .I think most people were expecting Newton to win other night and of course its understandable you were pissed at your teams performance but your first post sonded of sour grapes but having said that had this been your original post gbar 2007(whoever he or she is) and myself i,m sure would have posted different replies.

I got 5 out of 8 correct Scoop. Surprised at Annan drawing with Fleet Star. Threave unlucky but that's penalties for you!

Threave unlucky but were playing a good team. Penalties is cruel but that's how it goes sometimes.
Got to be happy with Threave's overall performance in the cup. Now for the league!!

Thought Saints would beat Nithsdale. Never know what kind of team Nithsdale put out.
