Wide speculation that the passengers of the aircraft included British Touring Car champion David Leslie (born in Annan) and former Le Mans driver Richard Lloyd.

That's very sad. I saw David Leslie racing many times throughout his career. I've got some good pictures of him somewhere in the Ecurie Ecosse BTCC Cavalier, the one painted like a big saltire. I guess the only positive aspect is that there was no-one in the house the plane hit.

Got David Leslie's autograph at Knockhill in the 1990s when he was doing reasonably well in a Honda.

Sad news.

"We'll take the house. Honey, the chances of another plane hitting this house are astronomical. It's been pre-disastered. We're going to be safe here."

Sad news mind.

I've been past Biggin Hill airfield many, many times. My mates live 5 mins away. It was a bit of a heart stopper when I saw the news.

Sad news :( I remember David when he was racing for Nissan in the BTCC and he's from my neck of the woods as well and I know one of his distant relations in Thornhill.

RIP David and everyone else involved

The pilot deserves credit for keeping the death toll on the ground to a minimum. To pick out the house with the pile of newspapers behind the door and the uncut back grass whilst travelling at speed is astonishing.
