That would be Mr Stocks? He is probably the worst one!! Absolutely clueless!! Not many worse than him but the standard is generally very poor!!

Mr Stocks took charge (and i use the term loosely) of our game against Mid Annandale a couple of months back. Martin Sproule was there watching him and he actually left early he was that bad!! Yet the next week they gave him the Dalbeattie v Annan game in the East Premier!!!! Almost like a reward for incompetence!!

Worst referee by far is Colin Stitt. However, the linesmen are usually even worse. They certainly do'nt make life for the referees any easier (which I believe they are paid to do!)

Are the linesmen really needed?

Had the ediot plenty of times at under 17 level and he strugles to control games, his refereeing tactics are brutal. Only have seen him referee one game in the south this season and with anyone thats seen him I will not have to comment.

Have any of you refereed even a youths game ,if you have then you will know how difficult the job is and wouldn,t be so quick to criticise them. ;)

ill tell you a good one about mr stocks, he was in charge of a sunday league game a few seasons back. the winger for the attacking team crossed the ball into the box and the keeper came to punch, he punched it directly at his centre half who, for some reason, instinctivly stuck out his arm and actually punched it back into his own net, it was pretty funny, but not as funny as the desicion mr stocks gave, he decided that instead of giving the goal and possibly booking the player , he actually sent the player off and gave a penalty!! both teams were arguing about the decision! i think that one moment totally summed him up for me!

I think Raymond Buchan has done pretty well this season in the games I've seen him. Decent guy, maybe doesn't get everything right but name a ref that does and at least you can talk to him.

The one thing that really annoys me is when a ref brings linesmen but still makes his own decision whether a man is offside or not. What is the point of bringing lino's when you arent going to use them

Sproule is a Category 3 referee which means if he was based in the Glasgow area he wouldn't even do the top Junior games as they're reffed by Category 2 officials. He was a Category 1 official last season.

According to the Andy's Stats Website, the only ahem 'top class' match he's reffed this season was St. Cutbert Wanderers v Pollok in the Scottish Cup 1st Round and he did not have a good game then. He did ref Annan v Lok in pre-season and impressed me much more on that occasion.

Andy's Stats - ref data
