Not the Dream Team that the fans want.

If I was a Mansfield fan, I'd rather see my club die than this proposal happening.

An English team for me to support at last
Seriously though, bizarre idea! If I was a Mansfield supporter I'd be pissed off.

As much as I like Dream Team as a TV series, the idea is simply retarded. Who wants to see the name of their club changed to that of a fictitious one. The club will be dead within two years as no bugger will go and follow them under the new name.

...and with Harchesters record the chances are the players will be dead as well through bus crashes, plane crashes, carbon monoxide poisoning, being walloped over the head by their half brother, shot by the police or blown up by an insane manager.
Mmmm, sounds a bit like Gretna.

he missed a trick, surely he should re-name them the Hurricanes...
What does a scanner see? he asked himself. I mean, really see? Into the head? Down into the heart? Does a passive infrared scanner like they used to use or a cube-type holo-scanner like they use these days, the latest thing, see into me—into us—clearly or darkly? I hope it does, he thought, see clearly, because I can’t any longer these days see into myself. I see only murk. Murk outside; murk inside. I hope, for everyone’s sake, the scanners do better. Because, he thought, if the scanner sees only darkly, the way I myself do, then we are cursed, cursed again and like we have been continually, and we’ll wind up dead this way, knowing very little and getting that little fragment wrong too.

what was the bit about getting actors from the series in at the club? is he actually going to play the team from the tv show?
Good people will do good things, bad people will do bad things, but only with religion do good people do bad things!

Rumours are this is an April Fool's. I'd hope so if I was a Mansfield supporter.
But from a selfish point of view I'd thing it would be great

Who the hell doesn't remember the Hurricanes?! I remember someone posted a link on here years ago that contained a few of the episodes - I spent many hours on that site.
23 years but not forgotten.

And York City were a real success after he changed them to a 'soccer club' and renamed the ground Kit Kat Land or something werent they?!
They sunk like a stone and are only just slightly recovering.
