Word is....................................... ....East and South have taken a strong stand against our junior friends Girvan who allegedly refused to play a South cup tie today as they had important Junior business to attend to!

Girvan are out and Creetown march on to the next round vs Easthouses lily!

Obviously Girvan care more about the juniors so how about the SFA fine Girvan back the £10k handout that they were quick to grab as SFA members?

Is it compulsory for SFA member slubs to take part?

I would say not, but once you have entered then you must then abide by the competitions rules

Girvan beat Whitehill in the previous round - that tie was switched to Girvan after 4 postponements by Whitehill as their pitch was unplayable. This was the third time the tie had been scheduled at Creetown, the previous 2 being called off. That's 6 weeks Girvan had no game.

I am not condoning Girvan's actions but I can understand them!

get you facts right sosfan the tie has only been scheduled to be played once before three weeks past and was called off because of torrential rain on the saturday morning as were a few other games on same weekend we were actually lining the park when the rain started at no other time has the game been scheduled to be played until sat 22nd march. so please get you facts right

The competition is open to all EOS, SOS and former Qualifying Cup sides. However, it takes precedence over all but Scottish Cup games. The apparent expulsion of Girvan is thus justified.

Here are the relevant competition Rules

3.

The Clubs will be balloted in pairs and these Clubs will play a single tie. Any Club whose name is not drawn will receive a bye into the next round. The winning Clubs and the name of the Club(s) which received a bye in the previous round will then be balloted in pairs. The Clubs will compete as in the previous round, and so on until two Clubs are left to compete in the final tie.

After each ballot the Secretary shall inform each Club of the name of the Club against which it is drawn and of the date of the match and the hour of kick-off, both of which shall be decided by the Competition Committee. Any change to either the date of the match or the hour of kick-off must have the prior consent of the Competition Committee.

17.

Any Club which refuses or fails to play the Club against which it is drawn, without, in the opinion of the Competition Committee, having sufficient reason for so doing shall be adjudged to have lost the tie.

18.

A Club which intends to scratch shall give notice to the Secretary and to the Secretary of the Club against which it is drawn, at least four days before the date fixed for playing the tie.

All cases of Clubs scratching shall be reported to the Competition Committee, who shall have power to order the said Club to reimburse its opponents for any expenditure, loss or damage incurred, or to take such other action as it deems fit.

Any Club which fails to give a satisfactory reason for scratching, or which withdraws from the competition without first obtaining the consent of the Competition Committee, shall not be allowed to take part in the competition in the following season.

Fraser played 5 games for us between March and May 2002. He's at Beith Juniors now and played for Kello and Largs in between.

Cheers. Didn't know he only played 5 games? Was he not up to scratch?

Haven't seen him for years now.

His Lok career was as follows:

16/03/02: Started v Cumbernauld Utd (A) Subbed 84 mins
23/03/02: Started v Lanark United (A) Subbed 63 mins
30/03/02: Unused sub v Maryhill (H)
06/04/02: Started v Benburb (H) Booked
13/04/02: Unused sub v Arthurlie (A)
20/04/02: Sub (on 88 mins) v Lanark United (H)
27/04/02: Unused sub v Cambuslang Rangers (H)
13/05/02: Unused sub v Renfrew (H)
18/05/02: Unused sub v Johnstone Burgh (A)
20/05/02: Unused sub v Benburb (A)
25/05/02: Started v Arthurlie (H) Subbed 80 mins, booked

He did ok for us from memory and was pretty solid for Beith in their 4-1 win against Lok in September.

I'm sure I've got a picture somewhere of him apparantly being held up in the air by his balls by an Irvine Meadow player.
