Indeed, I suggest you ask the SFA for confermation on this ruling.

creetown game off apparently girvan have more important things to do than play challenge cup so once again south football treated as 2nd class

This cup is supposed to be the cup to win between the south and the east Leagues yet it appears the only junior team in the south of scotland is treating it as some kind of inconveniance. They can argue that the junior league have given them the fixture but surely they can at least say that they are suppost to be playing in this competition. 1919 makes reference to the fact that Givan received the 10,000 pounds from the SFA and that South teams seem to have some kind of grudge for this. Well in this case I have got to agree with them , it is scandalous that a team can take this money from the SFA and yet totally dissregard the other teams that are taking part in this cup. When is this cup going to finish, no one will have a clue simply because the juniors couldnt give a monkeys . At some point Girvan,s elegability to take part in this must be addressed either they want to be in it or they dont if they cannot make that decision then it should be made for them. There is a lot of talk just now about a pyramid League involving the juniors, if this is the case then their total disregard for this SFA Sponsorded cup is not showing them in a very positive light.

I agree that its meant to be the main cup, but you only have to look the real Scottish cup to see that fixture contgestion can be a problem. With 5th round ties getting played on the weekend of the quarter finals and then said quarter final getting played nearly a week and a half after the rest of the ties. They have gave Creetown a date for the tie, so dont really see the problem other than Creetown assuming they would be playing them. If the EOS and SOS teams have came to the agreement the game are priority then fair enough it needs to be looked at. Get all the teams in the cup to agree with that, but if a date has been said when they can play it I dont really see the problem. No reason to fine them like some people are suggesting.

Lads, if you don't agree with something, don't resort to personal insults. It's not really that important.
If you can come up with a good enough answer, just don't post anything.

Calling someone a w**ker is not banter.

Correct, the challenging me to a fight is great banter tho. I dont think he realises how funny it is!

EDIT - This is not me acting the "hardman" before any of the west of the regions finest say so. Its just funny you getting this worked over comments on an internet forum.

Surely Girvan should just be elimenated from the competition if they cannot fulfil their fixture...............did the same thing not happen with Nithsdale earlier this season?

Good point Hoss. There needs to be rigid rules in place and they need to be followed to the letter. Then everyone knows where they stand and there can be no excuses.
If, however, there already are rigid rules in place, why are they being bent or ignored?

Not sure who the SOS powers are but we are not answerable to the S.J.F.A. as we are technically the senior league......We can surely lay down the law here.........Creetown should be awarded the tie and Girvan pulled up because if we ban them then every time a team cannot fulfill a fixture for whatever reason everyone will call for banning.........hit them in the pocket this time, they can afford it with their 10k.... :(

Here are the relevant competition Rules

3.

The Clubs will be balloted in pairs and these Clubs will play a single tie. Any Club whose name is not drawn will receive a bye into the next round. The winning Clubs and the name of the Club(s) which received a bye in the previous round will then be balloted in pairs. The Clubs will compete as in the previous round, and so on until two Clubs are left to compete in the final tie.

After each ballot the Secretary shall inform each Club of the name of the Club against which it is drawn and of the date of the match and the hour of kick-off, both of which shall be decided by the Competition Committee. Any change to either the date of the match or the hour of kick-off must have the prior consent of the Competition Committee.

17.

Any Club which refuses or fails to play the Club against which it is drawn, without, in the opinion of the Competition Committee, having sufficient reason for so doing shall be adjudged to have lost the tie.

18.

A Club which intends to scratch shall give notice to the Secretary and to the Secretary of the Club against which it is drawn, at least four days before the date fixed for playing the tie.

All cases of Clubs scratching shall be reported to the Competition Committee, who shall have power to order the said Club to reimburse its opponents for any expenditure, loss or damage incurred, or to take such other action as it deems fit.

Any Club which fails to give a satisfactory reason for scratching, or which withdraws from the competition without first obtaining the consent of the Competition Committee, shall not be allowed to take part in the competition in the following season.
