I think I've only missed 3 Airdrie games this season and that is by far and away the most abysmal performance I've seen from this group of players . Most fans are prepared to forgive their team a lot if there is a bit of effort but that was a gutless performance right through the team with only Robertson and possibly Donnelly playing anywhere near their best or showing any urgency. :(

Credit to Raith for winning the game but in all honesty you should have won by a lot more against a piss poor side. You must wonder why we're above you in the league but I can assure you most of our worst performances have been against you for some strange reason.

We missed Russell big time today and Smyth, Holmes and McDougall should all be back for the play offs so even though our record against you isn't that great if the players decide to turn up for the play offs I'm still reasonably confident that we have a better team when they apply themselves and will win that double header. However I'm not confident that we would beat Clyde, Morton or whoever to go up.

Just watched the interviews. My estimation of KB has gone up form yesterday anyway. He didn't try to twist it to make out that they were unlucky, unlike some. *Cough* Brian Welsh *Cough*

His analysis was spot on so at least he can see Airdries problems, now he has to fix them!

agreed we really should have scored at least one more goal but our finishing has been pretty poor this season but we certainly had plenty of chances

I don't know what all the pessimism is about, I've not seen us lose since the County game at home in January!

Granted, I've only been at three since that, but we've won every one!

I was quite impressed with us on Saturday, felt it was a decent performance considering the horrific run of form lately. Perhaps it was my influence? :P

On the basis of that kind of performance, we should be comfortable for the play-off's, but then I've been fortunate enough not to see us when we're playing bad!

Goodwillie and Sloan were the standouts, although Hislop and Davidson were good at the back all things considered.

Our performances against Raith this season really have been baffling to me, I've been to all four fixtures between the sides and I reckon in 360 minutes of football we've only performed anywhere near our level for about 90 minutes. I cannot figure for the life of me why that's been the case.

We were really gash on Saturday and I can only remember us really troubling the Raith keeper in the final seconds where he made a top save from Prunty's header.

Our midfield was crap, Andreoni had one of his better games, which really isn't saying anything at all as hes still too lightweight and always just seems like he wants to get rid of the ball. Ricky Waddell tends to beat a man and put in a good cross in around 2 out of 10 attempts which isn't good enough. If he's playing, it has to be at left back. Darren Smith doesn't seem to know how to play wide right either, fairly useless really. Stephen McKenna was also unusually bollocks at the back and made a couple of daft errors including the one for the goal.

I thought young Stephen Campbell looked alright at right back, Bobby Donnelly and Robbo once again had good games (both have been very consistent of late) and although he was clearly out of his depth at times, Lovers put in a decent shift.

Now I don't believe all this crap for a second that we are a one man team, I genuinely believe that Noble and Prunty should be capable of leading our line but not when we punt high balls up to them. Big Russell is good at bringing the ball down and holding it up which is why that tactic works when hes playing but if we don't adapt when hes not there then we wont get anywhere.

Credit to Raith for playing pretty well and taking advantage of our very sloppy performance, a very well deserved victory on Saturday. I still believe that over 2 legs we are more than capable of disposing of you guys but we're gonna have to up our game from our league games against you.

Didn't help that Russell, Smyth, McDougall and Holmes are out (as KB said, 4 of our regular 11) but thats no excuse. We should have players capable of covering and those players need to get their arses in gear soon as we can't afford to blow our own promotions hopes this year.

We said exactly the same about Stirling Albion last season. Turns out they were just simply a better team than us.

I'm hoping for a similar outcome

Not a chance, the idea of this social elite makes me want to vomit. Scum. Good idea for a user name though.

Deal, lets find out.

Edited to add - fancy a wee bet on whether you're gonna get a warning for daring to question the Jungle Master?

HIGHLIGHTS

How annoying is the guy in the railway stand who always shouts when we score on the highlights  it totally mucks up the sound and he actually swears sometimes as well and they have to edit it out (see the 2-0 game against Morton highlights last season). Stand somewhere else or shut it please

Plus they have left out Fahey's save <_<

Edited to add: Goodie takes his goal really well :)
