I remember playing with 5 Kbt boys in early 80s at Newton all who would be known better as Saints players Raymond Ross,Maxi,John Gault,Wullie Mid and Duncan Hiddleston all decent players and very friendly lads (John Gault wasn,t so friendly to opposition though) :D .

No. But I remember Wullie Midd playing for Threave. He said it was the only club he REALLY wanted to play for. You can even ask him!

McHenry was a pub league keeper at best. Fred Riddell a flash in the pan - he was never Threave class. But ok for Saints I suppose.

Niven and Muirhead has one main thing in common - they both played football with their gobs. Pity, if they'd used their feet they might have been decent players.

Fred was never a player. 'Qualifying Cup' - WOW! Threave are in the Scottish Cup history books.
Saints have always been in Threave's shadow. I'm not saying Saints were never a decent side. Of course, Saints have had their success stories. But the fact remains that Threave are more successful. Simple as that.

As someone who is old enough to remember most of these players I would have to say that if they were all still playing then they would walk the league. p.s. I am not a Saints fan but that would be a hell of a team.
