For the very same reason that we are likely to double our home gate. Which is the point I was making.
dee4life is grudgingly accepting that 6 times your usual allocation is "decent", then questioning whether we would possibly double our average home gate.
If anybody should "go figure", it is him.

Go figure what?I said our allocation was decent which it is,roughly a third of capacity,I merely asked whether you would sell yours as it was doubling your average. Our average is around 4000 and know for a fact we would not double it for a qf with queens(no disrespect intended).I sincerely hope you sell all your tickets as its more money for my club.As for our following for a league game on boxing day its hardly a yardstick.

That is good news, good bit of thinking by Queens there. I know it's early but do we have an idea when Cup tickets will go on sale. I ask as a distant Doonhamer who can only get down to Dumfries at weekends.
Dodos aren't extinct, they've just gone away and forgot to leave a forwarding address

I'm in a similar position, though it's up to Dumfries, not down. Hopefully, the impending announcement will clear things up. If it is at all possible to get a voucher and then order a ticket over the phone then that would be good. If not, then I'll live with it.

Dundee will be without McDonald and McKenzie and obviously McMenamin and Antoine-Curier will remain cup tied. We have all our squad eligible.

I don't think there are any suspensions from the first three rounds (remember we have played three times already) but if a player gets sent off for violent conduct the week before a cup tie can he then be suspended for the following match i.e. the cup tie

Should also have a decent amount of highlights on Sportscene. They can show up to three 'featured' games and it just so happens Aberdeen v Celtic has been bumped to the Sunday :D

Does this mean the Aberdeen celtic game will be the live match on Sky?

Does BBC get a live match at this stage?

Yes.

If they want.

It's a slightly bizarre deal which, in simple terms, equates to three live games on the BBC, one of which must be the final. So they can pick two from rounds 4-6; they took Kilmarnock v Celtic in the round just gone, so have one left.

I've mentioned before that I suspect they'll wait and take the second semi-final, because last season there was outrage that Hibs v Dunfermline wasn't shown.

You wouldn't double your average because you've been doing well this season so a Cup tie at your place against anybody would be unlikely to double your home crowd, unless it was something pretty exceptional eg one of the OF or a derby (no disrespect intended).
Our average crowd this season has to be considered against a background that for virtually the entire first half of the season we were bottom half or even bottom two. And this for the third season in a row. Therefore, there is far more potential for our home crowd to double than there would be for yours to do so. Therefore, our home crowds in the league, given our form in the first half of the season, is as irrelevant as your following on Boxing Day which, I may add, was more than you usually bring.
I should also add that your use of "I suppose" after saying the allocation was decent looked pretty grudging to me.

Game will be all ticket. 3pm at Palmerston Park, Saturday 8th March.

Dundee are getting the East Stand, 2,200 tickets or near as damn it. Pricing still to be confirmed. It will be announced tomorrow.

Queens will be issuing vouchers at the Stirling Albion game on Saturday which will entitle the holder to one ticket for the cup game in advance of the general sale (but after season ticket holders).

Here's my suggestion for pricing

Old Stand £15, no concessions
Terracing £10, concessions £5
East Stand £35 no concessions

Sorry I don't quite follow. Will these vouchers be handed to anyone who asks for one? When do the tickets go on general sale?

I think it means if you pay to get in to the Stirling game, you'll get a voucher. Otherwise there isn't much point in having them, really.
Details of the ticket sale will be issued tomorrow. Season ticket holders, followed by voucher holders, followed by general sale. It'll just be a question of how the timing works, plus whether postal applications will be accepted eg season ticket and general vouchers could be sent in by post during the priority period, then others later.

Eric will confirm details later today but it is likely we'll sell them from Sunday 24th onwards, though it'll be season ticket holders only on whatever the first day is. Voucher holders will get at least one, probably two, clear days before the general public. We'd like to start selling earlier but I don't think the tickets will be physically printed in time. We would hope ideally to sell the last of them at the Hamilton game on March 1st though obviously if there's still some left they'll be on sale all week after that. I believe Dundee are to sell theirs on Sunday 24th also.

You won't be able to buy a ticket using a voucher over the phone obviously. How could you prove you have the voucher? I guess though if you stick it in an envelope we might deal with a postal application? Will check. If you don't actually need a seat I doubt you'll have any great problem. We didn't sell out terracing v Hibs and even if we do this time its not going to be immediate.

Vouchers will be given to everyone who pays at a turnstile for the Stirling game. Season ticket holders don't need one, they already have one in the back of their season book. The vouchers handed out will be similar looking to what's in the season books, though it might actually specify the fixture instead of saying "1st All Ticket Match" as the season voucher says.

If you have a voucher you can buy a ticket ahead of general sale. If you have half a dozen vouchers for different people then one person can buy for all of them (still one ticket per voucher). This is to address the criticism last year with regard to people not being able to queue during the week or all having to come and queue together to get seats together.

Come general sale whenever it may start (probably middle of the week beginning Monday 25th) any seats left (and there may well be none by the time season ticket holders and voucher holders have been catered for, no doubt that will depend how many Junior Blues who mostly have seated tickets actually want a seat on the cup day rather than terracing) will be sold on a one per person basis I think. Terracing tickets will either have no limit or certainly a reasonable limit. They aren't likely to be in immediate short supply and we learned from last year that limiting them initially to one or two per person was a pointless exercise.

I think you will find our average has stayed pretty much the same at around 4000 for the 3 seasons we have been in division 1,even our 1st season when we finished 7th we had pretty much the same so your statement does not add up I,m afraid. If you thought my comment was grudging it wasn,t meant that way so we will leave it at that eh and just look forward to a cracking cup tie.

Thanks for the information, SD. My point about using the phone obviously assumes the vouchers in question had some sort of serial number. Never mind if that's not the case. Obviously, there are plenty of people in the same position as me who cannot get to Dumfries during the week, so hopefully that won't stop us being able to get our hands on a ticket.

Just read the information on the Official Site a few minutes before I read SD's post above. Seems pretty straightforward to me. I just pick up the voucher on Saturday, bung it in an envelope with a cheque and wait for the ticket to arrive. There's no way I can get to Dumfries on a Monday or Tuesday and I'm not waiting until the Wednesday to pick up the phone. It looks as if the club have handled this pretty well; it's obviously good to have plenty of time to put the arrangements in place.

We have a few weeks in hand this time and more importantly a couple of home games so we could issue vouchers and sell at one of them if it comes to it. The biggest headache round the Hibs one was we had no home match between the Cowdenbeath and Hibs games.

Not entirely sure on that point. If you normally use your ticket but go through a cash turnstile you'll get it at the gate. If you normally go through a season ticket turnstile we'll have to issue it with your ticket from the office because the gate person won't have vouchers.

Which turnstile do you go to after collecting the ticket from the office?

I find the increase in gate prices sad really,we played celtic at home in the cis cup and kept the prices the same as league games,£16 and on Monday at Motherwell it was also £16 which is probably a reduction for them. Why not keep the prices as low as possible,it was in the press dundee asked for lower ticket prices(not sure if this is true though)and its the fans who benefit.Poor show imo.

How will this entice the Glory Hunting fans to come to the game. If i was a Glory Hunter i would think twice about coming :thumbsdown

No way will it sell out, will be lucky to get 5,000

It's the same price we charged for the same round last year. I'm not sure why the identity of the opposition should particularly make a great deal of difference? I suppose Hibs were a more high profile visitor but it's undeniably a better chance to advance. We may never get a better chance. I don't think it's an unreasonable price at all for adults.

I would accept it's expensive for kids though.

There is not a great difference but why feel the need to increase at all?The fact it is two 1st division teams should have enhance the status quo regarding pricing.I suppose in the end both clubs split the money but its the fans as usual who miss out.My mate usually takes his family to big cup games and he is looking at £56 for 2 adults and 2 kids, when if at dens he would be paying a lot less.

I can't believe that this game has been made all-ticket. I know it's the quarter final of the Cup but I don't think it will attract a full house. There were only 1980 at the Boxing day match and 3926 at the last match at Dens Park. I can't see the attendance topping 4000 or 5000.

Another thing - why are they charging £18 when it is 2 First Division teams? I thought they only put the prices up when you play a Premier League team. I think they should only be charging League prices, ie. £15.

That did it. I have been lurking on this forum for the last two years with no desire to make comment. However someone from Dundee complaining about ticket prices has to be a joke  . Dens is one of the most expensive places to go with kids.

Lets look at the facts. 2 adults and 2 kids in Dens would be £48. That is £8 cheaper than the upcoming scottish cup quarter final. Hardly a lot less.

Then lets compare that to visits to Palmerston for a league game the price would be £34. Now that is a lot less.

Who are the rip off merchants!

This is one of the best chances we will have to get to the semi and I for one do not mind paying a bit extra to the club in the hope that we can do it.
