Thats what I though! We will have a bit of a patched up side but I reckon we will still have enough decent players on the park to get a result,up till now that is.

I wonder if we could ask for a postponement <_<

Seriously, I'm still not nervous about the game even with this news, because although I'd love to make another trip to Hampden the focus this season is the league and so the cup is a bonus.

To be honest, I'll be gutted only if we lose to a late goal, or the team don't put up a proper fight.

Like I said, yes it would be great to have another day out at Hampden, but I'm honestly not expecting us to come out of this game with anything, simply becuase we're now down to a squad that's lesser than the one that was shite all through January.

I was the same with the Motherwell game (although for different reasons) - I went just hoping for the lads to do themselves justice and not be humiliated. It allowed me to enjoy the game more and it was only once they pulled their goal back the "cup tie nerves" kicked in.

Just wondering what you Dee fans think the line-up will be this weekend? It seems you have a lot of players out and do you (HONESTLY) have the quality to field a really strong team this weekend?

What has happened to Lyle by the way? I didn't really catch the drift on the other topic!

Sensible replies please!

I still think Dundee will give Queens a tough game at the weekend despite missing so many players.....It sometimes goes in your favour having players unavailable. The team might try the wee bit harder. Hope not though.

So be a cracking wee cup-tie

This whole story about Lyle falling through a coffee table is horseshit. He has been getting heckled and booed every week since he signed a pre-contract with Hamilton. Rae has been calling for the fans to back him but has been ignored. Dundee dont want to lose face and just drop him so this ridiculous injury has been fabricated. I mean seriously, does anyone believe he actually fell through a coffee table and required 16 stitches??? Come on! The chances of that happening to anybody is tiny, but to happen to the player who they need an excuse to drop, and need to drop quickly is just too far fetched. A pulled hamstring would suffice.

what pish.

if dundee were going to do this why would they do it the week before a cup game that has no bearing on him going to hamilton? also why would dundee make up a story about him falling through a table? surely if they just wanted him out they could of said he picked up a knock or injured himself at home. there is no chance dundee made this up to save "losing face" when we are down to the bare bones.

Maybe a dundee FAN pushed him through the coffee table

Any word on latest ticket sales? Anyone bought a ticket recently and noticed which number it is?

How about a live internet feed from Palmerston. We can all sit enthralled as each punter buys their tickets and keep count. Get the whole family involved.

Yeah, we've known that over a week, I'm sure it's mentioned earlier in the thread somewhere is it not?

Anyway, pretty pleased with that. I think that behind Kenny Clark McCurry is the best referee working in Scotland at the moment. Does it pretty sensibly. Famous last words of course but whatever happens I'm fairly hopeful we won't be blaming the referee for it at full time.

Apparently he has cut his stomach badly on a glass table at home, requiring several stitches and will be out for a couple of weeks which means he will miss the game with us, the Hamilton one next weekend, and most likely any necessary replay with us too.

I agree with that. Dundee have so many things going against them at the moment that they are almost bound to band together and produce a performance in adversity. They are down six players for sure (McDonald, McKenzie, Antoine-Curier, McMenamin, Robertson and Lyle) and possibly a seventh or even an eighth (Swankie is "50/50" to play and there was some doubt about Ludo Roy last I heard?).

There's also a danger that our players with all this going for them will think they just have to turn up. I trust Chis and Kenny Brannigan to make sure that's not the case though.

I bought a ticket at lunchtime and it was number 2,499. We're probably at around 5,800 I'd guess. With two more days to go I'd hope that means we can get to 6,000 at least.

Was it? Never noticed; took me long enough to find it on the SFA website, because I'd forgotten that unlike the SFL they don't put appointments in with the normal news, but in the refs+disciplinary section.

Celtic fans won't agree. They seem to think that he favours Rangers.

But they aren't paranoid.

Maybe it wasn't mentioned here then. It's certainly been the subject of a couple of threads on Queens MAD in the past week. I thought I'd mentioned it myself somewhere actually but maybe not.

I have no idea what he's done between Celtic and Rangers. Can't recall the last time I saw an OF game or indeed any other SPL game. They don't interest me much and I don't have Setanta. I can only call it based on what I've seen him do in the games he's done with us. I think he's one of the best.

That's my worry also as I've seen us getting beat against so called weakened teams when the players brought in were taking their chance to get a 1st team spot.

So true Kirky. 40+ years of watching QOS leaves me feeling increasingly uneasy as this week progresses. I know it`s hard for the fans of the "big teams" to fully appreciate it but this is such a big game for us.

Oh yes, I agree that he's a good ref.

He was in charge of one of our games early-on in the season (can't remember which one) and he did a sterling job, even prompting a thread on the fishal saying he'd be welcome back any day. (Cue posts about how if he favours Rangers then it's obvious he'll favour Queens and Dundee and how he'll have a dilemma tomorrow etc. etc.)

I've already resigned myself to the fact that if Queens will f*ck this up. Helps no end in dealing with the nerves :(
