I find the increase in gate prices sad really,we played celtic at home in the cis cup and kept the prices the same as league games,£16 and on Monday at Motherwell it was also £16 which is probably a reduction for them. Why not keep the prices as low as possible,it was in the press dundee asked for lower ticket prices(not sure if this is true though)and its the fans who benefit.Poor show imo.

Lets put this into context ffs.

The SFA are charging £25 for a seat in the North Stand for a FRIENDLY against Croatia.

Queens are in the quarter finals of the oldest cup competition in the world and imo are entitled to maximize the revenue created from this game.

After all, Queens are one of the cheapest 1st division grounds to visit whilst several relegated clubs from the SPL still charge top dollar admission.

At the end of the day if Queens don't set their prices to get a full house at a ground that can only fit around 6000 for a SC 1/4 final, then there is something wrong.

If come March 8th there's less than 5,500 there then you might have a point.

Something tells me there won't be.

Incidentally SD, having not been in your East Stand what sort of noise does it generate when it's full?

Yeah it's ok. Doesn't really "trap" the noise though. It's relatively open so the sound carries right out of the ground. I've seen it very busy and noisy from the opposite terrace and then had people behind the goal tell me they could hardly hear it. From within it it's presumably noisy though. I wouldn't know, I've no been in it either!

What end to the number start from in the stand? (i.e. is seat A1 right next to the closed terrace, or the other one? Not to say I'm in A1, mind...!)

And then what numbers are at which side of the camera gantry? (roughly)

I'm fairly sure they are numbered from left to right as you look from the other stand so A1 would be the bottom row seat nearest the home terrace. High numbers will be at the disused terrace end where the away fans usually are.

Camera gantry is on halfway so obviously whatever the highest number is and half it.

EDIT - Don't say I'm not good to you, was on the phone about something else and checked for you.

East Stand is numbered 1-177 with Rows A-N (though there's no Row I). Obviously seats are lost to the gantry and the exits. Halfway line will be around seat 85 - 90.

So that means I'm on the "home" side. Will be good to get a different view!

Capacity is 6412, I think. Yes, it was an all-ticket match, though clearly around a couple of hundred terracing tickets did not sell.

Here's a photograph of the Portland Drive end that day:

Yes, it's all ticket. Dundee have been allocated the entire East Stand (almost 2200 seats).

Should be a good match and I hope that it will be a full house, to generate more noise.

Going quicker than I thought. I'd expect most (if not all) of the remainder to be snapped up.

And this is before the "full" general sale.

Sunday and Monday were for season ticket holders, with yesterday and today being for people who got a voucher at the Morton game...and the turnstyle operators ran out of those, with some people left looking.

So I fully expect at least 200 more to be shifted, if not all 300.

Could well be sold out by the end of the day with no general ticket sale at all! Dundee fans certainly do travel in numbers for the cup. How are the home tickets selling? Any chance of Dundee getting any more tickets is the home end doesn't sell out or is that impossible due to the layout or whatever?
