I realise that, but the way HB was talking, every young couple will split up eventually.

Who said that?

I said the divorce rates are sky high for this age grouping, which they are. That means the majority do.

Does it?

I don`t think it does.
Peace will come to earth when the people have more to do with each other and governments less.

What you seem to have taken from this is that every teenage marriage will fail, which is a nonsense interpretation.

Just because divorce rates are high does not mean that the majority of young marriages split up.

I think I am too selfish to have one.

I'm starting to think I'm a bit like that.

As for HB's point, I'm sure I read the divorce rate for those who marry "young" is over 60%.

I met my wife 18 years ago today, had ups and downs like anyone else, i think the secret of success is just pure laziness, its too much effort to change after so long :D

Yes, it was certainly more than half.

As I said in my first post, before it was bizarrely turned around to indicate I was suggesting every young marriage will fail, there are some obvious reasons why this would be.

slightly off yet crucially on topic women always make out that mental cruelty is as bad as physical cruelty...I think that is a fair enough thing to say.

In which case any woman who mentally lusts after another man is surely contradicting her marriage vows in an identical fashion to her husband who has just dipped his wick in her best pal.

TBH ive been totally dead set against marriage since an early age probably because of this and may or may not have been a factor in me and my ex splitting up.

At the end of the day you shouldnt feel that you need to be in a relationship by a certain age or just to fit in, if you find someone you get on with and like then great but you shouldnt feel like a mutuant because your single

I've been going out with someone for nearly 5 years now - since I was 16. Never had another relationship, so can't say that I feel like I'm missing anything.
