Was at the Bullet For My Valentine gig on sunday night and it was one of the best ive been to especially seeing as Still Remains were support. But my all time best gig was Killswitch Engage at the Barrowlands last year doubt that place is the same after that gig B)

Been to lots of incredible gigs over the years, including Motorhead, Metallica and a New York hardcore outfit called Biohazard who had the most unbelievable mosh pit of about 200 folk right in front of the stage at the Barrowlands. Lots of injuries.
, but for sheer atmosphere and power I'd say Anthrax at the Garage in 1995 blows everything else away:
8 pints, a gram of amphetamines, most of my short term hearing and a stone in weight lost. B)
I regret nothing.

Dinosaur Jr at liquid rooms in edinburgh last year, simply because it was a small venue, packed and the band brought an amp stack big enough for the SECC, I was deaf in one ear for two days.
Fucking brilliant

What does a scanner see? he asked himself. I mean, really see? Into the head? Down into the heart? Does a passive infrared scanner like they used to use or a cube-type holo-scanner like they use these days, the latest thing, see into me—into us—clearly or darkly? I hope it does, he thought, see clearly, because I can’t any longer these days see into myself. I see only murk. Murk outside; murk inside. I hope, for everyone’s sake, the scanners do better. Because, he thought, if the scanner sees only darkly, the way I myself do, then we are cursed, cursed again and like we have been continually, and we’ll wind up dead this way, knowing very little and getting that little fragment wrong too.

loads of gigs but the one that always rates highly is james supporting the soup dragons in 1991 in a pub in dallas texas in front of around 150
id seen james about 2 months earlier in front of 30,000 and to see them from that to a pub was bizarre also the soupies were excellent and had few beers after the gig with them and had a bullshit about fitba and stuff

I was at that Biohazard gig..well if it was the one that Dog Eat Dog supported.
I was only there to see the support..
Best gigs i've seen are Skid Row at Donington in 1992..weather was pish but you didn't notice as the band were so good and when i saw The Wildhearts in December they were immense.
Metallica at the SECC in 92 were damn good as well

Have been going to gigs since 1976 and seen some crackers.
Nothing can touch Pink Floyd at Earls Court for size sound quality and special effects. A truly mind blowing experience I will never forget.
Muse is the next best I have seen live, especially the Wembley stadium gig.
Some of the bands have seen live that were not too bad at all.
Radiohead
U2
Rolling Stones
Fleetwood Mac
Def Leopard
Wings
Metalica

I saw them at The Venue the year before. Bloody brilliant but my ears were also damaged for a couple of days. SUPREMELY LOUD.
The best was probably getting to see the Pixies at Tinthepark about 4 years ago. A dream come true.

saw them there and at T on the fringe the year after. Very, very good. Always look forward to planet of sound and where is my mind.
I've been pretty lucky with gigs

Seen Biohazard a few times once at Glasgow Garage. When they played Donington (1995??) they had the plug pulled on the show as they invited crowd onto satge and it was carnage.
Missed Anthrax show as I was at Cathouse same night watching CIV (ex-Gorilla Biscuits) - some show.
My best was Sick Of It All at Bradford Rios. ABsolute mayhem, bodies flying everywhere. Singer dislocated shoulder in the pit and finished show in agony.
What a band!

Skid Row were fuckin immense that day. Has the whole place jumpping. Rain just added to the effect. Slayer were on same bill and were also excellent.
Dog Eat Dog supported Biohazard at Gargage I think.

I used to have a really shite quality bootleg of Skid Rows performance that day.Complete with Bach falling on his arse when he ran on stage. The only bands i didn't like that day were Wasp(who i do like but they played a shite set) and Thunder. The Almighty were excellent as well. The next time i went to Donington was when Metallica headlined and i fell asleep during Slayer...but met the girl who played Anna from Grange Hill during Slashs Snakepit.
Dog Eat Dog was at Barrowlands as i remember talking to one of the band in Bairds before it as his uncle owned it or something.

that was a decent enough gig. but the secc spoils gigs for me.
an awful venue.
the only band i've seen at the secc which comes close to being the best gig i've been to was the prodigy.

It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning too long to believe that the tide is going to turn. And I've been living too hard to believe things are going to get easier now. I'm still trying to shake off the pain from the lessons I've learned. And if I see Van Helsing, I swear to the lord I will slay him. AHA HA HA. He take you from me but I swear I won't let it be so. AHA HA HA. Blood, will run done his face, when he is decapitated AH! His head on my mantle is how I will let this world know...how much I love you.

I agree the SECC can be too big for some bands if a band is playing there they have to have a massive sound to there songs. I saw Pink there(was with gf) and she sounded awesome then i saw 50cent(again with gf) and it didnt sound all too great.

The opening night of Prince's 21 Nights In London at the O2 last year.
Totally amazing. He started with Purple Rain, the entire arena went nuts. He played 2 and a half hours of hits, some great covers (Come Together, One Nation Under A Groove, Crazy), he played guitar like a madman, danced, joked, the most amazing performer I've ever seen. He also had Maceo Parker with him who is also a god.
The real highlight though was the unplanned encore - with people streaming out of the arena he ran back on, it kicked off bedlam in the arena, we managed to jump the barrier and were stageside for solo guitar renditions of Little Red Corvette, Raspberry Beret, and Sometimes It Snows In April. The rest of the band came back as well to end it with a big version of Chic's Le Freak into A Love Bizarre. It was fucking mindblowing
