Oh the irony following recent comments from Ton fans in the past few weeks.

Yes, how silly of them to not turn on their undersoil heating.

Oh...

Think youve completely missed the point - were having it in the morning, not an hour before kick off

No I was talking about the mockery of some other stadium having weather that might necessitate the need to have a pitch inspection not the actual timing etc of the events themselves.

Although there was some mocking when Partick called theirs off the day before last week.

Sorry, think you have again missed the point mate. Any mocking of Partick was related to the rugby team cutting thier pitch up and then Partick blaming the non use of the under soil heating on the rugby team.

The anger with the Gretna game (at Motherwell) was the lateness of the call off.

Latest update frae my windae.

It's lovely out there with the wind dropping and the blue sky and light clouds smiling down, it's about 20 degrees as ive got two bars on, but outside its cold but not quite freezing, there's a large number of Cumulonimbus clouds coming from over by yon Dunnon way so we may get a dusting of snow later, around 10pm a warm front should come over me due to strongbow, by falling out of bed time a descision should already have been made and at worse it means hungover snowball fights or a day in the company of Jeff Sterling.

Right now the park is playable, the inspection has been called for because the temperature in Greenock is forecasted to drop to -4 during the night and not expected to go above freezing again until after 9am.
To be honest if the temperature falls to what they think then it will be unlikely the game will go ahead.

Sorry think you are. There was mockrage when we said there was frost over this way for the last round of the cup. We called off early, then there was mockery of St Johnstone until it became clear they had turned their USH. The whole Partick thing I'm not even attempting to defend from that day.

On the day I did say of many be careful what you say it may come back and bite you later. Tomorrow may just be that day.

Am i the only one that is lost as to where you are coming from? If the game is called off tomorrow, and Morton have had their covers down, then it will have been through no fault of their own.
If a team has USH and does not try to use it then obviously they are going to have people having a go.

The BBC 24hr forecast says it won't fall below freezing tonight but other forecast sites have it a bit cold down to around -4c. The pitch covers will protect it down to about -2C

There's as good a chance it will be on as anywhere as even those clubs with USH may suffer from snow/crowd safety considerations. Greenock is forecast only for light snow. Snow can actually help as, if it falls on the covers, it adds insulation provided its not too thick to clear.

December 22nd but yes, that was a nonsense decision. Another out of the school of "Local referee thought it was playable, match referee thought otherwise".

It was one HELL of a game when it was eventually played though!

Inverclyde has its own micro climate.i work in glasgow live in greenock and 9 times out of 10 when frost is forecast on bbc/sky/itv we never seem to get any ,but by the time i reach Langbank the temperature plummets a few degrees.
i reckon glasgow/paisley areas will get heavy frost but inverclyde will get none.game on i say.

Now that was something I didn't know!
Had always assumed that the match referee changed his mind.

Happened to us again - Forfar, whose directors wanted it on since they knew we'd bring feck-all of a support midweek, opted to have a passer by insist the game was on. Jim McInally drove up from Dundee and knew right away that it would be called off, and it was done so by the real ref at 2pm. Sitting in the boozer we found out and rather than drive home, we at least had Perth to stop in to watch the skunks lose 1-0.
