Nope, still don't understand why Ferry was sent off. Nice footage all the same, two great saves from Cairns.

Had a couple of looks. Didn't think the Ayr guy should have gone either. Soft free kick for the opener though. Ayr still deserved there win.
The sending offs were a joke. The only thing Stevo done wrong was get someone off from round his neck, and then 5 Queens players were right in his face.
Hopefully the club appeal this using the video as evidence.

Do a hard refresh (ctrl + F5)
Ayr United fans don't cry when things go wrong.
If we did, we'd all dehydrate really fast and die.

Nice footage of Ayr's number 2 having a good kick at the Queens players which kicked off the whole sending off incident. Nice to see him sloping off for fear of being penalised ---what a p***k!

It was stupid and unnecessary.
Now you mention it though, that's three times this season Queens Park players have got an Ayr player sent off, by crowding round and barging into them, after an incident. It's pretty poor and actually annoys me. The referee tends to have to take action against the original player, involved in the incident, and yet the gang who start running in and creating the mayhem are untouched. Had no-one else got involved the ref could have ended it with two yellows.

Hard to tell whether there should be an appeal or not from that video. From where I was standing Stevenson threw a punch right in front of the linesman who then reported to the ref leading to the 2 cards. I can only assume the linesman had a better view of the whole incident.
Add to that the fact that the video evidence may only serve to incriminate Eddie Forrest (number 2) we should perhaps leave well alone.

The red card for McLaren in the first game was deserved - he booted our keeper in the back as he lay on the ground with the ball in his arms.
The stramash in the game at Hampden happened after the ref had shown the red card - there wasn't a Queen's player near him when he sent the player off.
As for Saturday, the kick by the Ayr number 2 which started the whole thing off is similar to the offence that saw Stuart Kettlewell get a straight red at Alloa earlier in the season - yet the linesman, five yards away, can't see it? Had no-one else got involved it would have ended with a straight red for your number 2.

That was an accident and not what he sent off for, in any event. I recall your version of events at the time but the video footage confirmed McLaren was in front of the keeper and the ball was loose. It was McLaren shoving the guy who, ironically, had him by the throat that got him sent off - just like Saturday.
As for Forest - it was utter madness, but never a red card, you could never seriously suggest that.
I just tend to find that many times an incident is inflamed by players piling in. The referee seems to feel compelled to then show red cards, where a yellow would have sufficed. There is too much of it in the game.
