3 Fantastic goals and a dubious penalty for Peterhead today, but that was overshadowed by the second half being played for about 2 minutes before the referee realised the Peterhead keeper hadn't come out for the second half.

Seriously?
Grade 2 refs are dreadful.

Unbelieveable and these are they people that are trusted to make big decisions.
Nice to see us back to playing a bit more football. Peterhead are dreadful though. How they are in the position in the moment is behond belief.
I was wondering what changes O'Neill was going to make, be interesting to see what team takes the field for Monday night. Though Callaghan and C. Smith were unlucky to miss out today. Especially C. Smith who has been scoring goals for us recently.
Good result today though.

I think Callaghan and Smith will be back in the team on Monday, I'm sure they were just being rested for today.

How come the 'keeper's captain or manager or even his team mates never noticed either?
Penalty was fair, a hand was used and the Brechin lads didn't complain.
BTW Brechin were excellent. Charlie King was a well deserved man of the match

I think you just sort of expect the keeper to be there. Is it not the ref's job to check whether the keepers are ready before he starts the game?

Yes. but surely someone in his team should have missed him?

Back to winning ways. Changes freshened up the team and we looked hungry again. Michael Paton looked good up front and Chucky was back to his best - his second goal was a beauty. Looks like we have a good squad now that we can make changes and not weaken the team.
Hoping the pitch stood up well enough for the cup tie on Monday. I'm really looking forward to a great day out at Pittodrie.
BTW - Michael Paton must have been knackered with all his extra running ............... about 5 times he ran all the way round Bobby Mann

Thought it was an excellent performance from the boys on Saturday. Wasn't sure if making some changes was the right decision before the match but it was definitely the right thing to do. The players who came in looked hungry and the team as a whole worked very hard.
Terrific finish by young Michael Paton for the opening goal and a fine individual goal by Charlie King put clear daylight between the teams at the break.
The second half incident was just bizarre. It seemed as if everyone, other than the supporters, failed to notice that the Peterhead keeper had not come out for the second half. Play had gone on for about a minute before it was stopped. Would have been interesting if we had scored, I'm pretty sure it would have been allowed to stand. Surely it's the managers/captains responsibility to make sure every team member were on the field?
Anyway City dominated the second half, and King's well taken goal included more stepovers than Ronaldo. It was a goal to cap off an absolutely terrific performance from the wee man.
Don't think we can really argue about the penalty. Ward may not have had much time to avoid the ball hitting his arm but it looked like hand-ball to me.
A really good performance which keeps us well on track for 4th place again. Also got my name read out over the tannoy for my 18th birthday!
Wasn't expecting that one.

It wasn't Ward it was Davie White that hand balled without a doubt but I thought the ball played him. Ward is just back after a long lay off due to injury and I thought he did very well. Didn't put a foot wrong. Squad look good.
Happy belated Birthday Steve. What's happened to the Brechin website? Are there problems.

Yeah may well have been. From the Trinity Road Stand it's very easy to confuse Ward with White. It's been reported as Ward in most papers so I assumed it was him but lower league coverage is awful so I'll take your word.
Cheers. There's nothing wrong I've just been busy with work, getting pished for my birthday and prelims at the moment so news story's are a little brief, sorry.

It was definitely White that gave away the penalty, soft as it was.
