Came up with a few names that i would put into a shortlist. Any other players that you think should be in it?

From a County perspective it's really hard to choose between the two. Barrowman is becoming the best goalscorer we've had in a long time but Petrie, while he hasn't played every week, has been an inspiration when he has. Indeed it was a beautiful Petrie chip and Barrowman finish which clinched the game for us in the dying seconds last week. So in a celebrity partnership stylee I'd have to say Petrowman, or Barrrie.

First of all, Alex Williams is clearly the signing iof this or any other season in this division and secondly we didn't sign Ryan Stevenson this season.

As a rovers fan i've got to be biased and back Craig Wilson. Pars should have held onto him but we got lucky. Probably the best right back in the league imo. Difficult to say, all the players above are cracking players. Probably Barrowman is the best in terms of a signing but i'm still going to back Wilson due to his form.

Remove stevenson from the poll as he was with them last season or you could include a few other players. Has to be Barrowman for his amounts of goals

Dougie Wilson on a free transfer, fantastic signing by Allan Maitland. Alloa fans would probably admit we didnt expect too much from Wilson when he arrived but he has a superb season so far. If rumours turn out to be true he could well be playing at a higher level next season.

You're quite possibly right! We signed him last season when we weren't even in this division but it still led us here.

I'm biased and voted Wilson too

He's most certainly capable of making a step up to at the very least a mid-table First Division side like Partick. At least.

I've only seen Barrowman once (I think. Has he played at Starks?) and I only realised he was playing when he scored!

Michael Renwick for me

I think John Armstrong should be on the list. He has been superb for Cowden so far this season.

Yeah he is but technically he was still signed :P

Fine if not him then Mark Ramsay who has been hitting form for us over the past few weeks

That was your mistake though - you have to play another 10 players on a Saturday and that's called 'a team'.

I would say Allan Russell must be a potential candidate in this category, he's been fantastic for us this season and is still one of the top scorers in the league.

I think to be fair the players choice in this isnt very good as soem players should easily be added in(alex williams, allan russell etc.) and some shouldnt be added in the poll(stevenson wasnt bought this year and some players added in ahead of others)

It's that Scottish football is backward. It wasn't ready for Scott Leitch's revolutionary 0-0-1 formation. The 9 other teams in the division we played each week were just lucky to get us during the transitional phase.

I heard you almost beat Clyde though, until Lex was sent off with 20 minutes to go. ;)

Dean Keenan - Although just on loan, he has been an absolute revolation since he came to Ayr. Dont think I have ever seen a player work so hard and look so commited. Just the kind of player we were needing.

I hope we can hold onto him.

Agreed on Allan Russell.

As for Alex Williams, don't be surprised if he rushes ahead of the pack in the vote, and then rather suspiciously loses ground to an Airdrie player, before not even finishing in the top 3. Obviously that would happen if there was money on it - allegedly.

As any good goalscorer is, only seen when scoring. The linesman never seen him at Starks Park either

Edited to add my pick. Barrowman so far due to the goals he has scored this season, and the fact we got him on a free.
