There's an interview with 'Braveheart' in this month's FourFourTwo, which begins thus:

"I thought long and hard about taking the job. I have a place in France and I was out there when I got the call. You can imagine: I was thinking, 'Clyde? Um, no, not really!'"

Ad Lib: "drinking deep in the well of moral superiority" (© Willie Bain, MP for Glasgow North East) since 1991.

Nicholas William Peter Clegg said:

I need to say this – you shouldn't trust any government, actually including this one. You should not trust government – full stop. The natural inclination of government is to hoard power and information; to accrue power to itself in the name of the public good.

I suppose it will take a while for him to decide to take the job or not. I hear that he will arrive some time before the end of the year.......once someone fixes his sat nav.

I actually think Colin is doing a reasonable job at Clyde. Don't think he's quite the figure of fun he looked at the start of the season.

Considering they have some of the fewest resources to call upon and that Clyde have been punching above their weight for a few seasons now he's doing ok to keep them right in there.

Although that is a belter of a quote. Fair play on him for taking it on and risking his reputation.

I haven't felt this good since James McFadden scored against France in 2007

Not a Clyde fan, but from what I have seen of Clyde and his squad management he has been pretty poor. He didn't know how to change the game yesterday and we were there for the taking, also a lot of his signings seem ill-thought and desperate as well.

Our squad has the leagues best keeper, a superb defence, good wingers, and a reasonable central midfield, and at the beginning he was somehow managing to ship many goals to teams we should really be better or equal to (4-0 v Thistle, 3-0 v Raith)

He appears to be steadying the ship a bit now, but some of the things he does are truly infuriating.

  • Playing Div McGowan up front - not ready for this level and will never ever be a striker
  • Not making vital changes until it is far too late.
  • Not experimenting with our dreadful strikeforce and just seeming to accept it (and the few occasions he did experiment, he ignored the positive outcome and went back to his old ways!)
  • Spending too much time arguing with officials and fans
With a good striker though we could be top half, as long as Hendry learns from his mistakes.

Other than Traub & Potter, who were only given 1 month contracts and punted at the end of them, what signings would you consider desperate?
Let's go, let's go, let's go Filip Mentel.

Wrong. Paul Gallagher is the best keeper in this division by far. Hutton's looked a nervous wreck in all 3 games against us this season

Christian Smith, Marvyn Wilson. Had Hendry ever seen either of them play?

He was outjumped by Mark Twaddle for a goal in the first game at Firhill. Enough said. I think I could claim a ball with a Twaddle's salmon leap to contend with

He had watched Smith several times before playing for Port Vale Reserves. Wilson had trained with the club during pre-season and both had played in a couple of bounce matches.
Let's go, let's go, let's go Filip Mentel.

i dont agree with that, Thistle would have been a much better club for him to go to than Clyde.

i think he has done a good job there, your lucky because the managers who you got, they seem to have worked very hard for you, one of these days youll go back down where you belong, you can keep punching above your weight, sooner or later youll take to many hits

hawhawhaw.
We'll follow the the Thistle for many a day
And see all the matches at home and away
And when the game's over and Thistle have won
We'll go to the Tavern to join in the fun.

Wrong. Paul Gallacher is as over-rated as Alan Main.
